This all seems eminently sensible to me.

Ever thought of running for political office? 🙂

The first sentence seems to cancel out the question in the second….;)

But yes, sensible ideas…… which is why they will never happen !!

having the conversation today with a doctor about mums “care wishes”, stay at home, look to hospice, or local hospital (the last one is a non starter).

Taking my mum to hospital this morning to be admitted for tests, and a woman was outside, 7 months pregnant at a guess, “‘aving a fag….”

surely that could be classed as an offence of some sort…… if the medical facts on the dangers of smoke to unborn babies are as clear as they are when quoted on health warnings…. surely it would stand up ?

I don’t think there is hardly a week goes by without finding out that yet another person I know has it. Why is it so prevalent in this day and age?.
    Jim.
    Lincoln .7

My mum as well, third time around, breast cancer twice, survived, now its spread elsewhere and going through all of the tests. Have to say that in timescales (EG, 24 hours from blood test to phone call to come in, and onto scan dates etc) The NHS has been superb, if unintentionally scaring us all with the “must be bad if that fast” thoughts.

I’m reading the Osprey book on Iranian F-4 operations, it makes fantastic reading and is a great companion for the F-14 book in the same series. At the time of the Iraq-Iran war, I don’t recall it being covered heavily in the news (Ok, before 24 x 7 news channels) and the perception was almost along the lines of, if those two are at each others throats, all the better for everybody else.

Some of the F-4 operations were amazing, roaming over the Iraqi capital almost at will, with the west seemingly thinking that complex operations were beyond the Iranians, many of whom were executed, tortured or imprisoned by the new regime.

I had forgotten how totally pants it is 😡

the attack scene where they lure the “Zeros” past the control tower so “Earl” and his boys (hiding behind desks if I recall?) can jump up and ambush them….:mad: dreadful stuff….

I watched “hereafter” last night, a very thoughtful Clint Eastwood directed film that tells three parallel stories about three people affected by death in similar ways and all three have ideas and thoughts and needs of communicating with the dead.

the ending is a bit sappy, but its subtle, thoughtful, and heart breaking in places.
