I bought a TomTom a few years ago, its OK as an aid, especially when (for example) I was in South Wales with the kids. But, its not infallible and you can see where dim wits get into trouble “Turn right now” needs to be replaced with “mirror, signal, check for oncoming traffic and turn if safe to do so”….

I still a) look at a map if heading somewhere new, and b) look at Google Earth so I recognise the place as I sail past it with the voice telling me I have reached my destination !

What I do find, with Cruella and my current partner, is that you tend to dispute the sat nav, and not each other, plus it provides a bit of amusement for the kids as well.

Never put “joke” voices on it though, they drive you insane after 20 mins…..

maybe I should use the “smile” thread on these….

but working out arrangements to walk down to Cruella’s in the snow with the kids during the usual “stand still” on the roads….. I get the ever helpful text, this time reminding me that my daughter should wear her wellies.

I paid good money for those flip flops in the summer and she will get her wear out of them !!!

Brilliant film ! I love the bit with the mental patients wondering around the tank column…. perfect way to spend an afternoon ! (the film, not going mad and wondering around a tank column… )

    Les Miserables

Despite two really poor bits of casting.

    M

and well worth a fiver to see big screen.

How much ? My local Vue is nigh on twice that…..:(

Not a huge musical fan myself (Blues Brothers and Paint Your Wagon are my limit !) – I heard a clip on the radio and Russell Crowe sounded (and I quote the presenter) like a bad X Factor contestant doing a Tony Hadley impression?

My own taste I think, struggles with every line of dialogue being “in song”, we should run the forum that way with .wav files…….

“I think the Burma Spitfire tale is a myth hit”

“oh no, I think you are so full of it….” :D;)

    Dredd

    I am, The Law………….

For those who know the comic, it’s a hit I think. Very violent but stylish and they do well to capture the iconic figure that Dredd has become.

It suffers a bit from the same plotline as “The Raid” (which is an insane Indonesian movie) but well worth 90 mins of my life and all of my nectar points to buy it with !

Isn’t there a fair sized chunk of fuselage on one of the Scottish islands that’s reasonably excessable?

Waking up at 6 am with the migraine from hell, closely followed by a text message from Cruella advising that as it was cold and snowing, she could drop by with a hat, scarf and gloves for our daughter……

Hello, excuse me poppet, have now been looking after the kids for over 2 years, I feed them, clothe them, and even let them have warm clothes in the winter and cooler clothes in the summer, and a mixture in the spring and autumn…..
