Alfred Price
the “Spitfire Story” is always a winner with me, the big Key book is a bible for checking technical details etc for me, but the Alfred Price book is a better “read” IMPO.

Seeing my ******** job duties advertised in a ******** advert posted ******* internally as a result of the current ******** changes.
My core role on my job desc is “X”, the core role on the job advertised is “X” only via an outsource. Interesting talk with solicitor this morning, am currently awaiting a reply from HR !:mad:

If anything I sense MUCH debate to be had when these start to air !
“First Light” I think is the one I am looking foward to most of all.
Known as the “PBJ-1” to US Navy and Marine Corps, can’t speak for that specific aircraft but the B-25/PBJ-1 were used in large numbers by both services.
One Monday at work, I had a painful belly and didn’t think too much of it. I was very lethargic, went home at lunchtime for a 30 mins snooze and to put on some bigger trousers. I went back into work and stopped by the gents to splash some water on my face and as I stood upright I passed out.
I came to a while later on the toilet floor, very hot, sweating buckets and not able to get myself up. A visitor to the building found me, and went off to find a first aider etc. Somebody else came in, asked if I was Ok, I remember saying something about help being on the way. This guy then stepped over me, used a urinal and then left (without washing his hands !). I was taken to hospital where it was found that I had a burst appendix, early stages of peritonitis, and the acid leaking from the appendix had perforated my bowel and it was leaking, giving me a nasty kidney infection as well as some other side effects.
I was laid up a fair while and was told that the thing had burst maybe two weeks before, had it been left a couple of more hours then I would have been in serious trouble. The damage caused further complications and I needed another major op a few years later. That was planned and “known” about, but the appendix thing was scary at the time! I woke up near midnight, tube down my nose, various drips etc, 36 staples in my stomach and I had to cancel my stag week-end.
The guy who stepped over me still works here, I’ve never been able to bring myself to ask him……. but the story about it has been told a few times!

Since the thread started I’ve been turning the house upside down looking for a magazine article from the past year – 18 months, Flypast maybe or “combat Aircraft” which had the main reasons for keeping the Meteors active, and the issues with a Hawk or Alpha Jet as an alternative. Its driving me mad now !
From what I recall, the sorties are short (15 mins or so) so the fatigue life is used very slowly (and also explains the sadly infrequent trips to airshows)
Ready for Le…….:diablo:
It would be great to see though, there is something very elegent about the “Dora”.
However, on arriving at the deli counter, the overweight, late fifties woman behind the counter was pre-occupied fiddling under her apron in the crutch area……this went on for sometime.
A sink with soap and water was just behind her:mad:Baz
Its worth logging on the WWW site and feeding that back Baz, given what I do for a living I see lots of complaints (got one my desk now that I was thinking about adding to the swear thread, end user wants money back/refund on an 18 month old bit of kit that she can’t use – it switched off, the error log says “incorrect battery connection” and so on…) anyhow, genuine feedback like this is taken seriously, especially with an Hygene element. Even if not, they will send some vouchers that you could spend on tinned goods or booze!.

you chaps managed to rebuild a Frightning though? :diablo:
What does a complete hunter go for nowadays?
I saw a Hunter just outside Classic Flight/Airbase, no wheel clamps, looked abandoned to me…..
Put your pikey head on and appropriate that one ! ? :diablo:
Not that I would condone theft or criminal acts…. but it was looking a bit lost….
Bland FM radio
I dislike commercial radio generally, its like ITV Sport but without the fun factor, but oh I hate “Bland FM” and the wacky morning crew who spout inane drivel, and talk about Jordan etc as if they people that we should be concerned about…… and the “wacky humour” just play some ******** music, preferably without talking over the start and end of it 😡
