afaik > in UN there was a resolution passed tht no space based weapons right?
i wonder how long it holds true.
surely bush knows his time is getting over so doing his best.

i personally think US cant deny space to anyone like china/EU/Russia-India.. and if US stars having space based weapons it’ll be just bad for civilization….i’m opposed of having it.

if we indeed need to have space absed weapons there shud be contribution of the whole world and have a space based defence shield or whatever to protect earth from external attacks and not to attack other nations in earth.

guys first of all hearful congratulations to our neighbours :D.
from next time we need to make missions more friendly to the user not just space walk!.

since india-china is not invited in international space station a joint venture to have a SPACE STATION WUD BE AWESOME.
BUT I KNOW pakistan wont let it happen .. 🙁

goin in ISRO is like a dream for me and my classmates apparently wont happen as they tend to select the best and there are too many best coming out every year which makes it more hard.

unfortunatey i dont believe in it there are lots of secret projects that goes on in a country but very few sees the light and it depends on the ned of govt.

about hypersonics india-russia is said to be working on it for quite sometime the scramjet but i seriously have no idea where they are. infact its the only future tech that can be believed, developement of scramjet in the world.

a BR guy posted a few days back while he was in ISRO he talked bout a lot of things something he cant reveal.. definitely diff things r goin on diff areas.
some says they’ve seen russian an124 or wateva carrying stuffs coming and some things happening in india .. etc etc both these guys r related to defence.
    so its completely speculative.

however the thing whicn can be believed in next decade or two is better RLV’s “avtar is kinda one”, scramjet , unmanned water combat vehicles and variety of UCAV’s.

yes ravula but tht article said bout something like that …to quote page four check 5th para..

The existing N011M series lacks a Low Probability of Intercept
capability, in part due to antenna bandwidth limits
and in part due to processor limitations. This is likely to
change over the coming decade as customers demand an
ability to defeat or degrade western ESM equipment and the
technology to do this becomes more accessible.
The N012 tail warning radar has been reported to be part of
the Su-30MKI suite and is offered as a retrofit to other models.

maybe the article is wrong… as i dnt have mucho ideas on this.

NEW DELHI: India may be sending a manned mission to space. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh discussed the possibility at a meeting here on Tuesday with the chairmen of the Space Commission and the Atomic Energy Commission.

Manmohan Singh, an official statement on Wednesday said he reviewed India’s space and atomic energy programmes with the scientists.

The possibility of the Department of Space developing a manned space programme was also discussed.

The department’s other plans, including upcoming launch missions, a profile of missions proposed up to 2013, the project for developing a regional navigational system as well as futuristic plans covering air-breathing propulsion systems, heavy lift launches and advanced communication technologies came up for review.

The presentation on nuclear power focussed on the scenario for its development, on the cost effectiveness and environmental sustainability of nuclear power, on the three stage nuclear programme and the approach of the Department of Atomic Energy.

An introduction to advanced technologies under development for meeting India’s energy needs was also provided, the statement said.

The imperative to offer attractive career incentives for scientists in the space and atomic energy programmes was underlined by the Prime Minister.

    Source : http://newindpress.com/NewsItems.asp?ID=IE…nd~man~to~space

    Regional navigation system > gagan
three stage nuke power > first stage done , second stage to be operational from 500Mw kalpakkam
air breathing – scramjet anyone? obviously with the ruskies i think 😉
besides Cartosat 2 is set to launch in this year last and GSLV to follow next year middle.

i dont think this is needed but oh well once a isro scientist said if given go ahead we can try it by 2020.

Do you seriously expect that the IAF will start to switch radar sets even before the induction is fully complete?? And please post the link which says that IAF will procure the IRBIS .

    BTW the IRBIS aint AESA

ohh i didnt know tht irbis isnt AESA aight aight gotcha..
well no i’ve heard some forum member saying each batch of MKI is set to have smaller upgrades.. so its nothing problematic believing that isbis may get in the batctches coming after 2009 or so…. with the previous one being kept with BARS only

Again please give credible sources , maybe financial Budgetary documents suggesting the procurment etc etc or IAF involvment with the projects etc etc even a media report will suffice .

lol i dunno any of such source, that is why i asked in the first place is there any plans forIAF to switch to newer engines when its developed that means it’ll come with the newer engines for batches after 09 or 2010.

Based on forum reports ?? Please provide actual articles ( I believe they exist or they should ) and tell us to what speed have they acheived it with the new engine and for how long with what load and at what altitude !! I beleive you would know this before having such a strong conviction that it allready supercruises so share the evidence and we’ll all become believers 😉

Only logical to do so since they are the youngest of the fighters in the USAF/USN aresenal !!

i dont believe MKI can supercruise nor i said reh.. check what garry said tht he found from a source a new engine is udner developement tht can supercruise for flankers ,, but the cost is exhorbitant high.

btw brint_it_on how does MKI compares with Su35BM?

guys how does Su 35BM compares to MKI?

i’m sure i saw in a article…tht MKI is going to have some more upgrades what i dunno

a post by the very garry in WAB recently on al41fn

Today read about first orders of AL-31FM1 for re-engining of fighter regiment in Perm. Talked to friend from Saturn – AL-31FM1 is just an intermediary between AL-41 and AL-31F. The AL-41 is not a whole new design…. it is just a DEEP modification of AL-31. He states “AL-41 will not be suitable for 5th generation fighter according to the preliminary specification discussed by Ministry of Defense. We would need to start all work from begining to make the engine which they want”

He said that everybody understand now that 5th gen fighter can not be submited for production before 2012…. it already flew but lacked 1) radar 2) engine 3) its spects are still disputed.

He added that AL-41 WILL be used for re-engining of Flankers. The engine has supercruise mode but at a speed less than Raptor’s. It was flying on a Flanker already…. but needs many R&D to reduce its HUGE COST.

    some other guy says this

Garry you have made a mistake.
AL-41F is a new engine, you spoke about 117s.
До меня дошли ужасные слухи. Говорят ПАК ФА полное дерьмо, военные выбрали самый плохой вариант компоновки самолета. Сухие называют этот проект уёбище.
Говорят он сильно уступает F-22 уже сейчас

its for sure that a new engine is under developement for flanker which MIGHT have a bit supercruise ability but provided the cost it might not be feasible to have it.

Himansu i cant remember the source but i seriously saw that the IRBIS radar or whatever is planned to get installed in MKI when it arrives.
now every batch of MKI some composites are being placed…
also the engine will be changed once the older engine wears out or the batches with AESA.
since we are already coating hugely with RAM i dont think thers any harm on putting AESA once ready… 🙂 to reduce the boeing 747 like RCS

MKI is a good plane but in BVR NO MATCH with F22 that is what i believe irrespective of being a flanker fan 😉 its just a gen behind.

Putin to be chief guest for R-day
    http://www.newindpress.com/NewsItems.asp?ID=IEL20061017085230&Page=L&Title=B+R+E+A+K+I+N+G++++N+E+W+S&Topic=0&

NEW DELHI: Russian President Vladimir Putin will be the chief guest at the next Republic Day celebrations.

During the visit, the two sides will also hold the annual summit aimed at taking the bilateral ties between the traditional allies to higher level.

Putin had visited India last in December 2004 for the summit at the end of which a joint declaration was issued emphasising the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The two sides had also signed 10 pacts covering energy, outer space exploration, navigation, visa services and banking.

The two countries three years back established the mechanism of annual summits which are held alternately in India and Russia.

India and Russia have recently been making serious efforts to re-build the strategic partnership that existed between the two countries during the Cold War period.

At the last Republic Day celebrations, King of Saudi Arabia Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud was the chief guest.

expect something CRAZY to happen :diablo: maybe stuffs signed on5th gen, akula , ATV or whatever :diablo:

btw didnt russia-india planned to manufacture a transport ac?? i heard somewhere what is its satus?

vikas i thot the mig 21 are calle bisons lol but they have put BVR missiles in it looong back a decade back or more i think.

flex it would be awesome to see how the flanker performs with the AESA radar “the future upgrade” which seems obvious for MKI for batches after 2008/09 so we can see 5- squadrons of AESA equipped rest upgraded.

now thing is does normally we change engines before a aircrafts life wears out? if yes i’m much interested in the AL41F the supercruising engine for flanker .. while they have decided to give the engine of PAKFa a total new go from scratch.
MKI with AL41F/AESA if not raptor wud be almost equal to typhoon…..obviously provided by its weapon package and i’ve heard it can even put Meteor in it if it wants to….

“The British should have brought their new Euro-fighter Typhoons. The Tornado-F3 air defence fighters were no match for our Sukhoi-30MKIs, which performed exceptionally well in BVR (beyond-visual range) combat,” said an IAF pilot
Sukhoi-30MKI is our golden goose. We don’t want to expose all its eggs to even friendly forces. We did not exploit its spectrum of capabilities. For instance, we did not open all operating modes of its radars,” said a senior IAF officer.

I think the britts didnt bring their Typhoons n the doubt if it can challenge the MKI without AESA “as of right now it dont have AESA right?” and without meteor thereby losing a potential customer :diablo: my 2 cents :diablo: :p

    I agree with you sferrin.
however i even agree with the fact that the MKI’s uch tech isnt revealed too be it intelligent gathering or working as an awacs.. now how does it works maybe a forming a screen of ac’s and disturbing the ECM with some ECCM’s to fool the enemy.. just 2 cents.
thers basicly no point to argue with 150 million cut down the price the Raptor is clearly the big daddy here.
but what about with 150 million dollars you can get 4 to 5 MKI’s with tht many MKi’s if taken in the ratio 1:5 and provided the BVR missiles[same as f22] are same and MKI “the irbus one with AESA” , how wud the F22 perform in such scenario?
is it that the Bars or the AESA just cant see the F22 anyhow or it’ll see it but it’l disappear and appear type of thing?

lol this debate is too complicated for me to join in.
however all i know seeing from diff sites ppls telling as i dont have much idea..
a F22 is clearly better than Flanker in tech.
in war scenario it totally depends on how planes are deployed and stuffs…but still F22 will have upper hand.
