First off folks lets look at FEMA,

You all seem to think just because an area as been declared a disater area Congress still has to give the ok for stuff to get rolling. The Area wasn’t declared a Disater area untill the morning after the Dikes Broke, I wish the News Outlets would go back and read the stuff they put out. Yes Disater Teams where set up before the strom hits but hey folks here is alittle unknow fact everytime one of these babys is heading towards land there is a FEMA rapid Respounce team alerted its SOP.

Now in order for the full FEMA request it is up to the Gov. of the effect State to ask the President and Congress for help. This isn’t Europe folks we here in the States have a different way of doing things when it comes to Federal Respounce to State help I think some folks should go and read up on US Codes.

Now for FEMAs budget yes it was cut but guess what folks it was Congress that did the cutting remember the President can’t approve a budget he/she can request a budget but only Congress approve it. As for the Dike upgrades yes the Feds have blown it on this but before you all go jumping down Mr. Bush back this problem has been going on since the Carter adm. who was the first to cut the budget.

Hey folks beleive what you want o beleive on what I have put up but the fact stand for themself also to my European friends do me and a few others on this forum a favor before you go off saying this or that about why FEMA or the Guard wasn’t this or that do some background research on how they operated.

Yea they have been talking about them for how many years and nothing was done you know were the blame falls it falls on the Mayor and Gov or LA and NO if they felt over the years that the money should be spent on working on the Levies then they would have spent Federal $$$ to do this over the years instead they used Federal $$ for other stuff like Welfare and Road Contsruction Ect Ect Ect

It is the time and place since Kev has decide to pull off the gloves and start a personal attack in his last two post jeeze I got booted for less, as its been said many times befiore by many of my fellow Yanks nothing like double-standers.

So Kev you win you know everything there is to know about the ongoing problem and you know all about what I’m doing to help out in my own very little way.

I did not see your latest petulant outburst, but then again I don’t need to. It would be the usuals verbose angst you normally trip out on these occasions.

IU was most heartened to see the progress made by rescuers and that the situation is gradually coming back under some sort of control. Perhaps the physical damage to some parts of New Orleans is not as bad as first feared.

I do find it odd that the leader of the Government can put himself in charge of an investigation into whether or not HIS Government failed in their duty to the people of those states affected by Hurricane Katrina. It’s like a sinister version of poacher turned gamekeeper.
