Bedsheet bomber was also involved in another film in the mid ’80s, I seem to remember it had a minor repaint with the application of Red Stars, can anyone remember the film.

Hi Lion Rock,
TE184 was used as a spare parts donor during the Battle of Britain film, so the answer to your question is yes it was used in the film but not noticeably.

Somewhere in my jumble of pictures, I have some colour prints of the first post restoration flight of the Buchon at Duxford, I’m sure Robs was flying it himself and, as usual with those things, the landing was a bit dodgey.
This must have been around 1980, the a/c was painted in brownish desert colours, I’m sure it was without markings and was the first ‘Messerschmitt’ I ever saw in flight, don’t think I saw it again though.
If I can find the pictures, I will publish.
Here it is Pete,

[QUOTE=stuart gowans], I can’t believe anyone, having seen an entire albums worth of song titles would then go for David Gilmour as the owner ,
I can’t believe he’s ‘So Far way’ either, he’d be closer ‘calling Elvis’.

Are you suggesting that Alain de Cadanet and the real owner were brothers in arms?
I Might be, maybe its time for some ‘Private Investigations!’ 😀

I remember going to one of the Orsett shows with great fondness, lovelly weather, and a great location and an excellent mix of aircraft.
I also remember getting within a few miles of the place without seeing any sign posts and no traffic jams, I honestly thought I’d got the wrong day! I can’t remember if the show clashed in the airshow calendar but the crowd was very poor, maybe they just didn’t advertise it locally.
Great shame though, a much missed location. 🙁

There was always a certain ammount of speculation that Alain de Cadenet never really owned this aircraft he was just a front man for its rather more famous yet publicity shy owner, anyone else heard this rumour. 😉

It was near the end when they where bombing the brits

I most have seen this film twenty times and have never noticed this Hart, other than Manston Airport has anyone else spotted it.

A Hawker Hart, I must have missed that bit! 😀

Just googled the aircraft and this is what I found.
No fire but plenty of rot according to this page 🙂

Thanks for posting the shots, Homer21.
Would the location be a US or Canadian airport by any chance, I believe the wing is from the former Mexican registered Mosquito B35 TA717 (XB-TOX), the wreck of which at one time was owned by the CAF. If I remember rightly the aircraft was damaged by fire in the late 60’s-early 70’s as Les Hunts 1967 edition of Vintage and Veteran Aircraft has a photograph of a complete airframe.
The last owner I can find listed is a Jim Merizan who was located in California.

Hi Rich,
Many years ago I built the old airfix kit as Carolyn and used the very same article that MerlinPete has attached! This shot taken by Norman Peeling is from the old Osprey book ‘American Warbirds’, I have also seen photos of Carolyn in some of Peter R March CAF books.

Digging through my old photo collections, I’ve found a further shot of G-HUNT at Biggin, and a shot of G-FURY and G-SPIT at Mildenhall, I didn’t take these so I cant be exact about time and place.
