And presumably that frees up the 738 to go elsewhere.
Anyone got any SCY752 experiences they can tell me about?
Just tried re-booking my flight on both Expedia and xl.com and indeed my flight has been repalced with Scandic flight numbers!
B*gger.
Anyone know what their Finnair 757s are like?

The BBC site tells a slightly different story saying the aircraft caught fire during taxi (which contradicts the refuelling story) with passengers escaping down emergency shutes.

Minor injuries reported so nothing serious by the sounds of it (thankfully).
The aircraft was a 777 which was refuelling from Tornoto.

It was indeed a Pakistan Airlines flight and the aircraft appears to have caught fire during refuelling.

Great report Mark – was very interested to read this.
I too had long delays with Helios but found the service pretty good. I also think 5 hours on a 737 is a long time; I’d much rather be on something a little bigger.
Went on both DBH and DBI on my trip; great aircraft though they do go tech a fair bit. Heard on the news late last summer that one of them had to make 8 attempts to land at Newcastle before finally coming down. Not sure if it was media hype or not. The plane, when landed, spent 2 days on the ground, leaving all outbound passengers stranded.
Great when they work, but a bit of a b*gger when they don’t; consequence of a small airline I guess.
In answer to one of the questions above, Nice was served once a week on a Saturday in Summer 04.

I too am shocked by Prague being dropped.
But at least we have Paris.
I can’t get my head around the rationale of Cork though? Is Cork going to work more than the bucket and spade routes which have had their frequency dropped?
I agree, we need another aircraft or some ‘w’ routes. Personally, I’d like to see Flybe or someone really put some effort into MME; I always get the feeling that with the ad-hoc schedule from Baby (and the lack of aircraft no: 2), that things could go pop at any time.
As an aside, Ryanair will start a daily Rome service in the next couple of months. 🙂
