CD – well put! I echo exactly those sentiments. Past politics was riven by set-in-stone ideologies, but those old political ley-lines barely exisit now. TYhere remain a rump of hard leftists and hard rightists but the majority dominate the wide centre ground – some leaning left and some leaning right.

Arthur – if someone makes a totally prejudiced unsubstantiated criticism it is worthy of reference in the context of the debate.

Class prejudice is outdated and of little relevance, except to those who still live in the past.

I wonder how many of those who win these vast sums of money ruin their lives, one way or another…..

I wonder how many donate large sums to charities and causes they support….

We all know what we would dlo with it, but it would be intersting to find out the reality of how big winners’ lives been affected.

Arthur – as you are well aware no one can prove terms of abuse to be correct or not. How interesting that you have replaced the words “public-school”, which you originally used, with “upper-class”.
