Lovely videos thanks for posting them, I hadn’t found those on youtube before! On the second video at the end its nice to see the soot trail down the fuselage and wing so characteristic of the 109. The Messerschmitt stiftung keep theirs so clean you don’t usually get to see it! Also interesting to see on the part 1 video the use of the sand filter!
If anyone has some Luftwaffe yellow cable to hand and would like to do some measurements of core size and outside diameter I would be most appreciative! I do have some cable but it is packed away in storage too! I am looking to find a modern replacement to wire the panel up with.
Thanks
Matt
Here’s my pet project, it’s built to wartime specification and is hand cut and not CNC milled. There are quite a few 109 panels out there but what is different about mine is that the whole panel is fully functioning (including the electric horizon) and I will be setting it up so that the electrics and pitot and static system are replicated on the back of the wooden base in a condensed form so that I can ‘run’ the whole panel.
I am most excited about obtaining a Fuhrertochterkompass so that I can wire it into my Mutterkompass and have a working kompass system but this wont be happening for a little while. I have more items on the way but as the panel is on storage at the moment I won’t have access to it for a while 🙁

Can anyone give me more information on this tyre. I take it to be from a tail wheel and seems never to have had a tread. Size marked 500×180, 7.00 – 7 1/2. It turned up in the Coventry area. Regards, Simon
Apparently it is the nose wheel for:
Fa 223, Me P.1101
Main wheel for:
Arado 76, Fi-156
Tail Wheel for:
Do 17 Z, Do 215, Fw 200 A, He 111, Ju 52, Me 210
or the nosewheel off a Mig-21 ; )
Check out my mates website for some good ground runners,
I ground run a few turbines and am hoping to have an M701 out of an L29 jet running this year.
The Herald has much activity around it today with recovery bags inflated under its wings and various bits of rescue/recovery equipment around it

Are there any in cockpit videos available? The climb to 45,000 must have been something to watch, strap a gopro (http://gopro.com/) on and you’re laughing!

Are we no longer allowed to express opinions anymore? Confused in Gatwick.
Had to move one accross the runway at Biggin Hill many moons ago. What an awful awkward heavy lump to move on the ground !!!!!!!!.
If only you’d had a Scheuch-Schlepper!

When transporting 163’s with the 110 would they just have not jettisoned the dolly and flown with it attached to the 163???

Thinning out the Roman kite population with a £50million jet…
We have an EoN primary glider rudder laying around. It should be about the same as an SG38, as it is the british verson. Shuttleworths SG38 is an EoN Primary.
Dave
Hi Dave
Would it be possible to share some photos of it? I would be most appreciative. I’m thinking of travelling to shuttleworth when I get a free moment to take some detail photos. The plans and cad info I have is very detailed but you can never have enough info!
Matt
I understand the VGC was working on an English translation, nearing completion.
Thanks Eric that’s good news, I have managed to translate up to page 25 today in the mean time.

Lovely photos! Would be nice if they fitted F/G wingtips to the Buchon the squared ones look a bit off!
Paul,
I’ll see if I can find a gunsight for you in Poland.
Hi Paul,
Do you have access to GTD-350 and M701 parts?
Thanks
Matt
