Great pics Tom I love the AI.
Yes they are really starting to turn DUB into a hub and spoke airport.
What does seem strange is that the 2 ORD flights-one direct and one via SNN leave 1 hour apart but neither allows enough time for passengers coming in on the early flights from FCO, BCN etc enough time to connect. I would have thought the second flight would leave 2-3 hours later?
They have an early arrival which allows connections like ORD-DUB-FCO but not the reverse. I wonder will they change it?
I doubt very much they will know themselves what aircraft will be operating your flight until at least a few days before hand.
No its starts tommorow. Tomorrow is the first day of the scheduled airlines winter timetable.
Its not a great day for DUB as we have no more Germanwings or Alitalia flights.
Well EI started DUB-LPL onece daily in competition with Ryanair and that has since been suspended but they also operated one daily DUB-BRS and they do quite well on it even with FR on the route.
This is well underway. The amount of connecting traffic flowing through DUB at the moment compared to 2-3 years ago is stagerring. EI have been known to have 90% of passengers on an inbound T/A flight connecting onwards.
The JFK flight is busiest due to EI operating an evening departure as well as having early arrivals. But even CO, AA and US are carrying alot of connecting traffic in.
Its a pretty exciting time to be working there as I am dealing with all the connecting bags and I cetainly hope it continues.
Is INI Innsbruck? I always thought it was INN.
Im quessing that the A319/320s would stay in LHR to feed the long haul VS flights.
I dont know if the bmi brand would stick around but if they could could get it back to where it was a few years ago they would do very well. I would be very surprised if the combined Virgin/bmi group didnt operate short haul routes from LHR.
Virgin wouldnt really be stripping them of their slots if it was one company would they?
LOL DUB,SNN and ORK are closed full stop.
Wowwww Enjoy yourself.
I was there a few months back. The terrace is quite good but if I recacll correctly the sun was a little problem early on in the day. The other terrace down by the train station wasnt much good because we were blinded by the sun but I think the runway use was the opposite of the norm when I was there.
If you get a chance make sure you spend a few hours in the city as I thought it was an amazing place.
I flew into LGW yesterday morning and we had to sit on the ground in DUB for an hour while the fog cleared up. Not the best way to kick off a day tip.
Hmmmm makes me wonder. Our DUB-SNN-JFK flight is consistently delayed. Maybe those 767-400s arnt overly reliable.
Will DL use the 400 next year to MAN. We are loosing it and getting a 300 but its direct in both directions rather than via SNN as is our ATL service.
Do you work for SQ directly or a handling agent. I sometimes say I work for DL but really work for their handling agent 😀
Ooops I stand corrected BIE is Air Med.
