I think we are all in agreement that Lincolnshire would be the most appropriate place for it if only on the grounds that the county was home to more of the RAF bomber bases in WW2.
I agree Lincolnshire would be an excellent place, but how many bomber bases were in Yorkshire?

The wife was going to book me a taxi ride for my 40th,which was 4 years ago next Monday,(18th of August.) but I persuaded her not to.
A decison I now regret,after reading Moggy’s account.
Ah well,if she’s not going to fly, there’s always my 50th.
Ken.
Sorry, but I had to point this out.
Just take a look at the bottom of the pic,and read the description, after Runway 07/25.:D
I’ve just watched it on the re-run,and I have to admit, that I had tears in my eyes, watching George as he visited the various sites that were attacked, and the people that survived.Deeply moving.
I can’t add anymore as to what’s been said already, just to say I’m pleased I wasn’t around at the time,to witness what went on.
Superb programme,and tastefully done.
Ken.
Anyone know who piloted the BBMF fighters?
Ken.
Any idea when it will be aired?
Ken.
I was at a race meeting at Blyton, and I’m sure we had a MkXIX fly over after it’s visit to Scunthorpe.
Anyone know which one it was?
What was funny,is that I was driving a recovery tractor, and because it was so hot,I was nodding to sleep in the cab,and the Spitfire’s engine noise woke me up!!!!!! 😀
Must have been at about 500 feet.
Ken.
If I live to be half his age,I will be grateful.
I bet he’s got some wonderful stories.
Happy birthday old boy.
Ken.
Hi all,
The BBC report said that two Tornadoes would fly over the dam with the Lancaster, but they didn’t cover this – did it happen?
I was at Lossiemouth on Friday, and 3 617 Tornadoes certainly left to take part in a flypast somewhere!
Were the Tornadoes seen over the Derwent?
Regards,
Iain.
Yes,and pictures of the 2 Tornadoes and the Lanc were shown on various networks.
And as I was there,I can confirm that this took place.
Ken.
Any negative feedback from the politically-correct/anti-military elements of the public or media?
After all, Germany is now an EU partner….
Who cares if there was?
It was a part of British history, and we musn’t forget that.
As the motto says,’Lest we forget.’
Ken.
Sorry about that Stormin.
I’ll seek you out at LLA day,and give you an altered pic.:D (Afro wig do???)
I felt like Charlie of the chocolate factory fame when I got that ticket, and you guys didn’t disappoint,as one would expect.
Looking forward to Blyton in July now,but after today,I don’t think anything but LLA day, will be as good.
Ken.

Just got back.:D 😀 😀 😀
Absolutely superb.
Without doubt, one of the best BBMF displays I’ve seen.
Thought Sqdn Ldr Al Pinner would have been in one of the single seaters, and was surprised to see him on the dam wall, and then giving the pre flight speech. He must have lost at rock, paper, scissors, when it was decided who was flying!!!!
Took some pics, and if they have come out any good, will post them later, but I’m sure some will follow.
