All sorted.:D
Now got one,but don’t ask how.
I’ll be there with a fellow radio ham,and between us,we’ll have a scanner and a Yaesu handheld portable ham radio listening in.
Ken.
Yes but at no point in the original information does it ask for an address,it just says you will be contacted again if you are successful, which would then leave me to think you could then provide your details.
Bit misleading really.
Ken.
As it looks like I’m not one of the successful applicants, along with others, the trip to Spicer Hill looks like a reality.
Does anyone know what frequencies they will operate on,as along with a fellow radio ham,we’ll take some gear with us for a listen.
What interest me though,is if people were getting their passes by post on Saturday morning, and the closing date for applications was Friday,when/how did they manage to get names and addresses from people who were successful,AND get them in the post that day?
I can’t believe that 400 people were sat at their pc’s waiting for the call,as there was no closing time for applications, just a day.
I smell a rat.
Ken.
…90 right…medium left…into, slot left…..Oooh…look, isnโt that a Lancaster? ๐
Very good.:D
Ken.
Absolutely Eddie, but if you look on an OS map for the area,it’s quite a hike from the Ladybower end,and if like me you have some friends who have walking difficulties,it can be very hard on them.
Ken.
According to the bumpf, they are passing over the wind farm at Spicer Hill, hence the reason I was going to go there.
Found the exact location on an OS map 110,from a road rally I did there years ago, which still had the route on it!!!!!
Ken.
I don’t know what it is you’ve been taking Newforest, but can you get me some? ๐
Ken.
You mean you don’t know? ๐ฎ
Currently the 2nd news item down.

Ken.
Damn.Never mind.
Thanks for asking anyhow Stormin.
Can I put my request in now,for an on board photographer for Blyton on the 13th July? ๐
Ken.
Cheers Stormin.
There was a guy at the show, who had his customised truck painted with A Lanc, and he and others have asked me to ask the question,so I have.
It will be nice if there are some pics, and if there are, could you either get them posted on here,or mail me them,in order that I may post them on my other forum? (With full credit of course.)
Looking forward to Blyton in July.
Ken.
Ditto.
Thanks guys.
Ken.
Hi
Does anybody have any information as to where PA474 will be displaying this Sunday in the Peterborough area? The BBMF site just lists it as a display but with no details – could this be Truckfest? There is no mention on their website though.Any further information would be much appreciated as it would be nice to see the lanc if it’s in my area on Sunday.
Thanks,
I’m off to Truckfest on Sunday, and have asked the same question on a truck related website.
If I find out,I’ll let you know.
Ken.
And as for the people in it,it could be an excellent subject of ‘Where are they now?’
Ken.
Jesus. ๐ฎ
They don’t look in the best of shape.
Pleased to hear both pilots are ok though, which is the most important thing.
Ken.
Listening in on scanners to ATC is totally illegal in the UK.
http://www.ofcom.org.uk/radiocomms/ifi/enforcement/guidance
As is usual with Ofcom, nothing is as straight forward as it seems. As a licenced radio ham,I despair at the rules and regulations that are laid down by Ofcom,as they never seem to give a definitive answer.
Try and make sense of the above, but as Moggy says, listen away,as they are unlikely to catch you/do anything about it.
As an example.I have a small Yaesu hand held amateur transceiver, (Amongst many others.) and it also doubles as a scanner, without any modifications whatsoever, and I will be using it to listen in at the Blyton Lancaster flypast on 13th July. (Saying as I’ve organised it,I want to hear what’s going on!!!!) So now you can see where the contradictions come in.
