The JA37D comes to mind.

Thanks all, for your kind comments!:)
@Global express
I use a Sigma 50-500. This was the first time I’ve used it at an airshow. The camera is a D300, which I bought a couple of months ago.:)

i was watching the Gripen Demo and it was claimed their that the aircraft could supercruise so i looked at some of its no.s
The Gripen A/B and C/D can also supercruise.
Dry thrust for the RM12 is 54kN, and IIRC 67kN for the F414.

Internal fuel for the Gripen A/C is 3000 liters.
err, where did i mention range and amount of weapons in any of my posts? it might simplify things yes, if i had said it but seeing as i hadn’t it dosn’t simplify things. Edit:If thats your arguement defending the gripen, you need to try harder…
You didn’t have to. Your previous post made it quite clear. There’s no other way to interpret it.
Lol fella don’t get to upset, its a non conventional opinion i hold yes, cutting against the grain of opinion if you like but no need to ball about it. I apolagise for nothing and stand by my claim Gripen is over-rated, cheered on by legions of zealots, normally for nationalistic reasons its capabilitys are exagerated and stretched to be in the same league as the other recent fighters , yet its not even in the same league as Typhoon or Rafale by a long margin as we all know, holds few advantages over twenty year old teen series fighters (if any) ,would be made mincemeat out of by any flanker too and will really struggle in any conflict where the enemy brings anything more then 3rd gen fighters to the fight. I wouldn’t want Gripens in the RAF for example and neither would many others, theres far better to choose from.
So, you judge an aircrafts effectiveness solely on range and how many weapons it can carry. Well, I guess that simplifies things?
Superior agility the gripen may well have, however its still not agile enough to foil a missile so its kind of a moot point, i still think it’d pwn a gripen most of the time, gripen is seriously over rated, infact i’d go so far as to say the most overrated of all the latest fighters.
With that comment your knowledge about the Gripen fighter is obviously non existent . Do you even know which company that makes the aircraft? I doubt it.
i will go on record as saying i think one of these would pwn a gripen the majority of the time.
Sure, if the Gripen is going through an engine overhaul during the attack.
-The Typhoon has been shot down by a gripen in BVR during last red flag.
It was during Spring Flag in Italy, and it was WVR, not BVR.:)
I don’t really see how the Gripen is sleeker and it certainly has its share of bumps. Furthermore that kind of non assisted intake is not helpful for high AoA.
The Gripen has been flown to at least 110deg/AoA during trials. These tests proved undramatic and the inlets never failed to supply air to the engine.
What you are saying it is true however you won`t be able to fly post stall flight, your computers won`t let you but your airframe won`t bring you home, having thrust vectoring thus does help you increasing the maneuvrability and allowing you to fly where your airframe can not keep you flying
And is there a good enough reason to be able to manouver in the post stall regime or should we have missiles with TVC instead that can pull 100 G’s and turn 180 degress in 2 seconds? I fail to see why TVC is needed on a fighter unless you build it tailless, or if you just want to impress at airshows.
A factor that has not been mention is once an aircraft departures from controlled flight, thrust vectoring will get it back, a fighter without it will end up crashing, a fighter with thrust vectoring will save the machine and returned home that is the reason the flight is called post stall flight.
Thrust vectoring is a life saver
A modern fighter is not an MD-80. FBW allows for carefree handling, so ending up in non-controllable flight is a ridiculously rare occurrence. Although, should it happen, the pilot only needs to let go of the stick and let the computers sort it all out.
The Gripen is loud alright, certainly louder than the Viggen. It’s more like the Draken. The sound is quite sharp and not as thunderous as that of the Viggen. The F/A-18 is certainly louder compared to the Gripen.
Interesting thread? Just the usual astronomically overestimated superiority of US technology/fighter aircraft.
