By the way does any of your harnesses carry a 6F/166 reference?
Hi Tim,
Just out of interest my copy of AP1086 Section 6F dated 20th March 1958 gives the following for 6F/166: Anchorages, Observers complete; consists of 6F/160 forks, swivel and 6F/96 quick release
Unfortunately 6F/182 isn’t listed in this revision date issue.
Hope that helps
Regards
Dave

Identities for items 4&5
Hi Alan,
Item 4 is a starter for Gipsy Queen 70 (and probably others) which according to the info should incorporate a drive for the propeller feathering pump.
Item 5 is a Fairey filter unit. The company is still going but under the United Technologies Corporation brand of Claverham. http://www.claverham.com/history.html
Hope that’s of some use in deciding where they may end up!

Dave

Hi there,
My copy of AP1086 shows 6D/789 as a vent valve manufactured by Manley and Regulus (with their p/n or model number 1075)
The ref numbers don’t always run consecutively so a Sec/ref number higher or lower won’t always mean a continuation of the same equipment.
Hope that helps

Hi there,

I don’t think it gives you any further information than you already know, but thought I’d include it.
Just a thought, in your parts manual are the Sec/Ref numbers for the fasteners in there as well as the p/n, should be Sec 28FP for Aircraft Fasteners and Quick Release Pins, if there are can you list them please and I’ll look in my copy of AP1086 Sec 28FP

Dave
With reference to post #20, in picture 4 the bolt head appears to have the standard markings you’d find on an American AN bolt, the anchor nut in picture 3 also looks to be of the American AN366 pattern.
It’s difficult to say without actually looking at them and comparing between other known items.
Please see here for some info on these parts: http://s760.photobucket.com/user/dsgaviation/library/AN%20Bolt%20and%20Nut%20Info
Hope that helps

Hi CS,
I have p/n 30370 listed as Auster Mk 9 in my copy of AP1086 (Sec/Ref is 27A/3245). It also lists that this p/n has been superseeded by p/n E.30996 (Sec/Ref 27A/4258).
Hope that helps.

Hi Matt,
I’m not sure what the DDS actually stands for but I’m guessing it’s a Westland own standard part, much in the same way there are DHS (de Havilland), DAS (Dunlop), VGS (Vickers), ST (Hunting Percival) etc parts.
The attached picture shows a label from a pack of bolts for the Wessex (26WX section) and the p/n is DDS2042-YA1, these were packed 17 Dec 1981.
Hope that’s of some use.
Regards
Dave
My last lot went a couple of years ago (I think I had about 14 of them at one time)I [I]may[I] have some detail spares, but they would be somewhere in the pile.
It might be worth giving Devonair a try but I wouldn’t hold out much hope in finding any complete ones.

Dave
Hi Yakman,
The SP21 grease nipple is a slide-on fitting, whereas the MS 15001 series are push on fittings and are very different.
Have both the grease nipples and new grease gun adapters available if you drop me a line.

Dave
