And just flown over my house in Fenstanton heading back Wyton way…….
Interesting to note that the tender document has now been amended and XS727 has been removed – so perhaps the Duxford delivery is back on??
Hope you’ve got deep pockets!!
Best of luck though, the number of airworthy Doves/Devons is dropping quite quickly.
That should be WA591
Mark
Yeah, yeah, thats the one…………..:o:o:o:D
Classic Flights Proctor taking to the skies again,
plus the return to flight of Meteor T7 WF591,
and a certain Mosquito
Plus as much Chipmunking as possible. 🙂

I guess it would be the one listed here 15th Dec 1977. The school is a stones throw from Exning, and in sight of were I used to live!
I remember one of my friends telling me about the time a jet crashed at his school in Newmarket, I guess the end of the seventies would have been about the right time. If I remember correctly he said two aircraft were flying in close formation until they hit and one went into the ground. Seem to recall him saying it was an F111 but he isn’t an expert on planes. Haven’t seen him in a long time so I cant ask him.
Hello David, nice to meet you on the night. Have you tried Tim Badham and Simon Westwood? If you haven’t send me a PM and I’ll put you in contact. I’m still kicking myself for leaving the tow bar on the Anson and spoiling peoples photo’s, but there was so many aircraft to move and so little time!!
I could be wrong but I thought that the Northstowe development has been put on indefinate hold (RAF Oakington airfield area) and that the new developments in North Arbury (Cambridge) and St Neots have been stopped until such time as the economy improves, so why do we need this new development when the others don’t currently warrant further expense? I guess they are just trying to get the permissions and they leave it dormant for a bit?
Just to keep you all updated the office have informed me that unfortunately we wont be able to ground run the DC6 now this weekend – still plenty to see and do though!!
Look forward to seeing you Twin Pinn, with a bit of luck it wont be to long now before we have the wings back on her and she’s reaching for the sky once more. 🙂
Didn’t Keith Hartley fly Buccaneer XW986 from Kemble to Warton before its delivery to South Africa or was I dreaming? Not sure it was on the civil register but it was certainly privately owned.
Think this thread would give you the jist of it
XS458 was DX of the LTF from March 85 to August 86 when she went into store before appearing as DY in October 86 so I guess that dates the picture – as for the markings, indeed intrigued!
I think XL426 at Southend and XH558 is more likely!!
no one else went? 🙁
I did! I was there with our Dragon Rapide, we had a great day and took quite a few people flying all returning with happy smiley faces. The 2 Vulcans was really something special and you weren’t alone Nashio as there was some liquid forming in my eyes to – although I think it was the vibrations! ;):D
