I would not be at all surprised if the IRIAF wound-up with some J-10’s from China.

Doesn’t China have arms embargo on Iran?

In order for Iran to get planes from America, it must sign peace treaty with Israel and recognize Israel. It would be easier for Iran to simply develop its own planes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcFbfkSIO20

Being half the price of the other offerings might have helped.

3 billion compared to 4 billion, if I’m not mistaken. So three quarters. Nevertheless, production cost in China is like a fifth in America, so it was a bargain for China. :eagerness:
Being less costly does not take away the fact that HQ-9 is superior technologically and in performance as compared to Patriot PAC-3.

    F-16C/I
    1 x Mi-17 (TuAF v SyAAF 2013)

Does anyone have the details on this event?

No it’s never claimed by anyone.

1 Type 052D destroyer would sink all 4 of Taiwan’s Kidd class destroyers. There’s no comparison here.

Technically, Taiwan is not in north Asia but in south Asia. Just pointing that out. :p

Anyone know whether the P-1 or C-1 will be available for export? Would seem to me that it would be a waste of time and money for Japan to have created them and not allowed them for export.

Japanese constitution forbids export of any arms.

While I’m waiting at the airport with some of my musical equipment and a couple of my Guitars to catch a flight to another US state (none of which is cheap Chinese junk), why don’t you entertain me with solid facts and information regarding how the J-10B is superior to the Typhoon, Rafale and the F-16E Block.

    It’ll be a giggle.

P.S. The information you should be giving will take up a full page on the thread, so best of luck with your Essay.

    Superior technology baby :eagerness:

Hold on a sec. So a 1 square meter RCS is the same reflectivity of a metallic sphere having maximum cross sectional area of 1 square meter? This would be far less than the reflectivity of a flat sheet having area 1 square meter oriented perpendicular to the radar, due to principle of the angle of incidence. Without radar absorbing paint, F-22 frontal sector RCS would be about 20 to 30 or so square meters.

    It says here a man has a RCS of 1 m^2. http://www.radartutorial.eu/01.basics/rb56.en.html

Again, please do Your homework. The J-21 is powered by the RD-93 and Not WS-10, which is a much larger engine.

TR1 was referring to J-20. Production J-31 is powered by WS-13A if I’m not mistaken.

Same engines as Flanker (worse than Su-35 actually) in terms of efficiency, smaller size, but it is going to carry more with better range?

    Hmmm, very interesting.

WS-10G rated 35,000 lb, it is F-22 class engine, not Flanker. Get it right, Ruski, or we gonna ask for Siberia back. JK JK. 😎 Peace.

2013: world’s most advanced warship Chinese Type 052D delivered

2013: world’s most advanced mid size war jet (other than F-35) Chinese J-10B delivered

2013: world’s first nuke powered unmanned Moon rover and world’s first Moon based space observatory Chinese Chang’e 3 mission launched

2013: world’s safest car Chinese 2014 Qoros 3 introduced to the world market

    2013: world’s fastest supercomputer Chinese Tianhe-2 operational

In 2013 China officially becomes a Tier 1 technological superpower in the world :eagerness: What does Taiwan have? Some old Mirage 2000-5, F-16C Block 20, Kidd. Taiwan doesn’t have the guts to mess with one of the world’s most technologically advanced countries with a population of over a billion.

Let’s also not forget that Chinese Jiaolong manned deep sea exploration sub is currently the deepest diving sub in the world. Next year or so Chinese Type 095 nuke attack sub introduced which would be amongst the quietest and most advanced nuke attack subs in the world along with Virginia and Yasen.
