To the keyboard heroes who think it’s fun to insult and “bait” others – well, I think your idea of fun needs looking at. At least you are in no danger of falling foul of the forum rules. Not here anyway.
Go elsewhere? What and let you win? Not likely.
Good stuff old bean.
It’s going to be a long Winter but something I’m looking forward to.
I agree, my idea of fun probably does need looking at by a psychiatric professional–it’s black (very) mostly, and there isn’t a lot on the BBC which makes me laugh–well apart from the news. However, my outlook on life has been formed over many years and it makes me happy.
I imagine Derek, that to you, the irritating thing about the internet is that it’s given people like me a voice.
Irritating b*stards who don’t fall in with your World view.
One voice = one person = one internet presence.
That’s the absolute b*gger of it, don’t you think??

Well I think modern art is like all art–and indeed most things.
There’s the good, the bad and the indifferent.
Personally speaking art has brought me some great joy in life and if I was in Paris (a favourite city) I’d be hard pushed to decide between a trip to the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace and the Musée national Picasso.
I enjoy both equally.
Just a personal thing.

To those who have tried to argue my points for me, a deep, grateful, thank you.
That’s OK, my invoice for services rendered will be in the post shortly…:);):)

The problem has stemmed form all this is that certain folks on here seem to to think it’s fair game to make personal attacks and throw insults at those who dare disagree with them. That becomes the politics of the playground and you don’t have to look very far in this thread to see examples. Sadly the largely un-moderated nature of the GD forum means that nowadays generally people get away with personal attacks, trolling or whatever. Was it always like this?
Yes–always.
It’s part of the fun.
It isn’t, and never was intended as a particularly serious place to debate World issues.
If you can’t cope with that–simply go somewhere else.
Personally I couldn’t care less what keyboard heroes type about me, but if the forum is supposed to moderated then that means everyone should be playing to the same rules and just have rules ignored depending on who posts.
Ah, but I feel you do.
Oh, and Kev (Mears).
It’s Andy Jones–in my case.
Not so much a leader of men but a follower of women……..

Charlie.
This one’s on the way back to being a going concern.
She was at Dunkirk too–both for real and in the old film.

Yes, the same.
There were a couple of trip boats that used to pull in there back then.
