Perhaps it might ‘do it for you’ if you were sitting in that rear cockpit, 2000′ over Duxford, hands and feet on the controls…as it has for several hundred non-pilots over the years. 🙂

You’re probably right, but I still think it looks odd..

We were at Duxford on Saturday. Apart from the Harvard, everything else was safely tucked away in the hangars.

I expect I am the only one of this opinion, but I must say that I find ARCo Spitfire, an assault on my senses.
That double bubble canopy layout, just doesn’t do it for me.

Yes typical, on the day we decide to go to Duxford !

If anyone else had taken pictures of the aircraft on the quayside, I don’t see how they could stop the
photographer doing whatever they liked with them. As long as they weren’t taken from private property without
    permission.

Planning on being there at somepoint during the day, be good to see everyone

Hopefully we’ll go. As we haven’t been since the very last open day.

Weather forecast isn’t brilliant, may have to make a late decision, as its a 70mile trip.

    Lovely looking aircraft.
My only sight of one was when there was a flypast at Southend, on it’s way to the Netherlands from the US.

How sad, and what a shame he couldn’t have lived to see “Just Jane” take to the air again.
I never spoke to him, but did see Fred and his brother when we visited East Kirkby some years ago.

I made it seven, so close 🙂

Friend heard them call Farnborough North with what sounded like a US accent, and heard “60” mentioned.
So Possibly Pave/Black Hawks on their way to Mildenhall or Lakenheath ?

Formation of seven military helicopters flew directly over our house at 14:10 today, heading north over Rayleigh.

I’m not very good on helicopter IDs , but someone else must have seen them ? Merlin sized.

I think a lot of bad behaviour on roads (not just motorways), is caused by drivers wanting to establish the pecking order.
What self respecting driver of a late model Mercedes, BMW or Range Rover, wants to be seen anywhere apart from the
    outside lane ?

I was coming back from Oxford last week along the M40. I moved into the outside lane to pass an HGV,
there was a BMW estate some way behind at the time. Because I didn’t move back into the middle lane quick
enough for him, I got a blast of his horn as he went past me.

I’m glad the police are also going to come down harder on tailgaters too. Very often Transit man in a hurry.

Regarding keeping to the speed limits. All speedos are calibrated to read over the speed you are doing,
    up to 3mph at 70mph
