Mmmmmm…. I’d say the first one. Wrong shade of yellow on the towing rig ? 🙂

Someone directed me to this site, it’s more fiddly than PB, but it seems to work ok for posting the odd picture.
I have set up a Flickr account, but I can’t say that I particularly like it.

Just need to resize the photos first 🙂 On balance, I think “PostImage” is probably the better option for me.

A view from the beach at Minsmere. Next stop Belgium or the Netherlands.
    It doesn’t look very inviting.
An old customer of mine used to be on RAF Air Sea Rescue launches during WWII, spending
a lot of time on patrol in these waters. He had some sad stories of talking to aircrew who knew
they wouldn’t make it back The men who manned these small boats, have my admiration.

We were at Minsmere last Friday, it was a bit blowy for walking on the beach though.
Then again, if I’d known I may have braved it 🙂

I tried to upload some images to PB on Sunday, and it wouldn’t let me. I have now reluctantly switched to Flickr.

Very sad. Interesting that in the video, the police give details straight away.

Clearly the Thunderbirds obtain their smoke from Fords, you can have any color as long as it is white.

I must say that I prefer the white smoke as opposed to colour. I remember on year at Mildenhall, the Reds arrived back from Southend doing a low pass with smoke on.
As there was little or no wind, a muddy brown smoke hung around for ages. Colour might be ok when going over Buck House, but I don’t think it adds anything to their display,
certainly not in the volume they produce it. Not of course that they use colour all of the time.
On another point, The Red Arrows are promoted as an aerobatic team, where I believe the Tbirds use the term Flight Demonstration Team, flying extremely close to each other.

My favourites by far, are the Frecce Tricolori, even with their colourful smoke. They are helped by having aircraft more suited to aerobatics.

This has echoes of us wanting to visit Chatham Naval Dockyard.
Due to an arrangement with gift aid, an adult ticket is now £22. A bargain they say, as you can go as many times as you like in 12 months.
This only benefits those who are local to Chatham. No good for those on holiday, or who live some distance away.

    We decided not to go.
