…….. but I had no problem with those on that side, be it locals, passer-byes, or photographers…it was just a personnel choice.
    regards,
    jack…

Me neither. It must have been marvellous to have been able to take photos of the aircraft without looking into the sun.

…… I think this is worthwhile emphasizing as a testament to the care that is exercised, and to the skills and courage of those who have the dangerous (and probably poorly paid) job of disposing of them.

I seem to remember a documentary on UXB’s in the UK and Germany. They were saying that UXB’s in Germany must be removed if their location is known.
This being done by a department of the Fire Service.
In the UK, they know where many of the bombs are, but leave them in place until there is a need to move them. For building or road work etc.
There must be a huge number in the Thames mud ?, where they will be very well preserved.

Scroll down to “Manage Attachments” and it’s pretty self explanatory. You may have to reduce pixel size of picture first (?) 1000pix on the horizontal side is usually enough.

Personally I first upload to Photobucket and post a link.

Anyone recall a movie called Dark Blue World?

    Moggy

I had a quick look at it tonight. The flying sequences looked quite good, but there was too much
other stuff going going on around it. I’ll have to watch the whole film to form a proper opinion.

What gate guardian did they used to have there ? I remember seeing something when I was knee high to a grasshopper.
Spitfire or Hurricane ? I also remember seeing what looked like a Lancaster (without wings) parked outside one of the hangars (late 50’s ?)
In later years I went to wing parades and gliding to Debden, as an ATC cadet. Then it was also a dog training school.

This weekend’s result is a refreshing change. I still don’t think I will bother to watch it though.

I was on FB, and one of the adds on the page was for an ancestry website.
I followed the link and found the form which showed when my grandfather joined up in WWI. I didn’t go any further.

I seem to remember that there were those on here who said that the “BBC Brexit Bias” was in our imagination ?
