Something inside me triggered a thought while watching GMTV this morning.
I remember the day well, my ex-wife had kindly allowed me to store some of my furniture in her garage, I hired a van to move it, was loading stuff when both her and my partner suggested I used my house key to watch it on Sky News, I did, it was horrific, I saw the second plane hit the building live, it was an awfull thing to witness.
We were quite honest with our kids about it afterwards, it hasn’t meant much to them subsequently anyway, but it should.
Lets think today about all those innocent people that died.

The Pub sounds good to me with a pint of Spitfire 😎 It maybe intresting to see what results they come up with but do we really need this machine and could the money to built it be spent else where like on cancer?:confused:

Aha, thats their excuse, I don’t understand how, but I’ve heard from several sources that information received will give them better knowledge in learning how to deal with cancer, along with everything else, who knows, perhaps this time next year information received from this mega billion dollar self indulgence will give me a better understanding of why I had only 3 plums on my tree this year.

It makes you weep, how many times has this subject been covered, what is the point of asking this question.
If the powers that be won’t allow such proven types as the Lightning, Jaguar, Phantom and even fake, but well constructed FW 190 to fly in private ownership, what hope is there of flying an unproven prototype, dead for 40 odd years, no back up, no spares, no engines, no history, degenerated electronics, assuming they still exist. Shove a Merlin on Thomas the Tank engine and it may have more chance of being approved for flight, perhaps we should ask that some of those exciting prototypes at Cosford should be restored to flying condition, well, most of them have done more test flights than the fabled TSR-2. Perhaps if we find enough A-stoff and B-stoff, some lunatic could be tempted to take up an Me 163, well it did considerably more flights than a TSR-2, it must have more sympathetic leanings by the CAA as to it’s ability to fly succesfully.
Forget it pal, lets devote our attentions to a more worthy cause, there are so many, the TSR2 was a great dream by the British Aircraft industry, it came to nothing, it was politically destroyed, however I agree with the descision, what was the point of it, what was it supposed to achieve, yes it was stunningly attractive and well advanced for it’s time, or so we are led to believe, but so what, would a variant have been turned into a UK air defense fighter, imagine a great lump like that in charge of the UK air defence system, I think not.
Like it or not, it’s cancellation resulted in the Tornado and the Jaguar, what terrible substitutes, multi task aircraft, quite rightly so whatever their faults. I think I personally would have prefered to put my life on the line being defended by those boys than a great big useless piece of ‘High tech aircraft’ whose abilities were never proven.
Lets get the SR-53 flying, lovely piece of kit, it might benefit from the use of A-stoff and B-stoff as well.
Ever heard of it by the way, if you haven’t it’s lovely, 1950’s to a tee and well worth flying, it was one of my favourite early Airfix kits.

Why worry, if these morons are raising kids that will be no doubt brought up to be as ignorant and stupid as themselves, let them get on with it and suffer the consequences, we’ll all be better off in the long run if they are taken out by a Redimix lorry, my only concerns are for their innocent dogs and the poor sod in the Redimix lorry who will feel forever guilty even if it isn’t his fault.
On a slightly different note, I had a good one the other day. We have a problem with parking in our local Sainsburies, it’s used as a town car park and has a limited number of family and disabled spaces. Quite frankly people are pretty good about where they park, but there’s always some dickhead isn’t there.
It was evening, there were loads of spaces in the main area, right up to the store entrance too. What does this woman in her empty 4×4 beast do, park in the remaining family parking zone next to the entrance.
I said to her, ‘It must be nice to come out without the kids for a change’ She laughed and said yes, so I said, ‘So why are you parking in the family area then, I bet you wouldn’t like it if you had a car full of kids and had no where to go’.
At which point this very posh wealthy bitch let of a stream of foul mouthed invective, quite uncalled for I thought and so I very nicely threatened to inform the store security guards and parking attendants, at which point I suspect that had she got a weapon of any kind, she would have used it on me. She promptly told me to F off and walked into town, had I been able to undo her petrol cap I would have been quite satisfied to p##s in it. Arrogant, selfish cow, how do you deal with such self opinionated people who think they know best, mind you, there’s a few of them on this forum, oops sorry.

Let us not forget the comments, though secretly made at the time of the first nuclear explosion in New Mexico, that the explosion would cause a split in the earths atmosphere and it would be the end of everything.
