The drama documentary is disappointing with the blatant Antonov cockpit complete with Russian dials. Not sure if they really would have tried a second take off run after inexplicable power loss. Certainly heavy snow and ice gives many problems to aircraft.Powerful stuff…..

Pete TrumanIndeed. Two weeks ago the reporting on Radio 5 of the build-up to the Manchester derby was giving the number of people killed and injured, and interviewed the daughter of (Frank?) Swift, the one Man City player killed on the plane.
Yesterday and today – eight Man U players killed… No mention of anyone else. Very sad, especially as I believe the investigation into the aquaplaning eventually led to improvements in safety which have doubtless saved many lives.

Frank Swift at the time was a former Man City player who was on board in his role as sports writer for a local paper.
Tonight there are two programmes about the incident tonight, 10:40 BBC 1 where Harry Gregg, the goalie goes back to the scene of the crash for the first time, could be very poignant, also BBC4 at 10:00 is another programme.
The other night Albert Scanlon was talking about the incident on ‘The One Show’ which was very moving.
Many of the surviving players were never the same again, only Bobby Charlton seemed to reach the heights of greatness that the others deserved, and would have aspired to, don’t try to contact him, being a very retrospective, emotional man, I doubt whether he wants to talk about it.
If you Google the incident, there is an awful lot of info out there about the crash.
If you are interested in football or not, watch the beginning of the England match tonight on BBC1 at 7:30, I gather they are having a minutes silence with the pictures of the dead players being shown on giant screens, it could be an emotional moment.
I remember the incident well, despite not being Man U supporters, everyone where I lived in Nottingham was shocked at the time, different age, different feelings towards your adversity.
The year after our team Forest went on to win the FA Cup, doubt whether they would have done it without that tradegy occuring the year before.

Also the rat might simply go next door to eat from a neighbours garden and so still have a plentyfull supply of food therefore problem not solved. Oh another ‘trick’ that might get him to move on though is the good old hosepipe down into there little rat home underground, we did that once and hell the rat shot outa his hole at about 50mph it seemed (lol well not quite but damn fast), he never used that hole for a home again. Edit:I meant turn hosepipe on too not just put it down hole,
Actually, thats not a bad idea, he hasn’t got a hole as such, the shed is raised off the ground on battens and he comes in and out of the gaps, but if it got horrifically damp under there, well hmmm, could have a bad effect on the shed structure, will have to think about that one.

Favourite car had to be an all singing and dancing Golf GTi mk2, complete with electric everything and an on board computer, quite advanced for 1988, it’s performance and handling was quite something and so was it’s economical fuel consumption, I was gutted when someone hit me in the side and wrote it off, though it’s high speed handling qualities in reverse were something else, any other car and I doubt whether I would have got away with just a neck burn from the seat belt.
Next was my MGBGT, bit of a beast and it’s handling was crap, but it had a bit of character.
Alfa-Sud 1.3, great car, but it fell to bits.
Believe it or not, I love my current Peugot 206, only a 1.1, but good fun to drive, and economical.
The most over-rated car was my ex’s BMW 318i, the first in the UK and with M3 bits in it.

My son Jack is an unusual person, he’s swam with natural Manitous in the Gulf of Mexico, I think he has that gift and an empathy with creatures and all mankind, as far as I know he is the only white European accepted Masai warrior and can deal with lions in the wild, but thats another story.
Ever had a Happy Christmas mobile call from a hunting Masai tribe in the Ngormo crater, ‘Jacky, we want you to become one of us’, what do you say.
I recall us going for a swim at Sea Palling in Norfolk and a seal really took a liking to him and they were both playing games with each other for ages, something I’ll never forget.

Pete TrumanWhere there ownership issues there so be careful, otherwise my only suggestion would be to make sure you have a good recipe at hand before making the kill, it would be a shame to get a prime specimen and then ruin it through poor cooking.;)

Pete TrumanFirst of all make sure the “remember me” feature is selected. Next line of thinking is that you have a duff cookie. Click from the IE menu Tools>Internet Options>Delete Cookies. From there it is conceivable that you have somehow managed to have your browser not accept cookies from this site, in which case it will be worth having a delve into the IE security settings.
Pete, it is not the fault of us or Key that you are having a problem, but more likely a tech issue with your PC doing something unusual in the way it interacts with the vbulletin software Key uses. Not to mention countless other sites.
