I’ve checked out the FAQ and can’t find the ‘Yes! post a poll’ checkbox. What do I do?
Check out Monty Python, it’s obviously a late Parrot.

Yup, I quite agree with that sentiment, and I think that there will be more realistic aircrew contra temps in the new film, no doubt Mr Fry will revel in it.
Meanwhile Bex and myself will dissapear into the sunset with 2 goats and black dog we are’nt allowed to discuss, while sharing a fag.
Hi Pete,
Well one could say things about getting old but I wont, except I have seen 2 proper airshows, Croydon had a load of prop flybys one year in the early 80’s and a Biggin Hill show about 20yrs ago. Then I helped CHivenor get ready for its airshow in 1990 ( it started the day we went home 🙁 ) & finally Tangmere’s ickle show last month. So Pete, you are a very lucky gent to have been able to see many shows & aircraft. Good luck sorting them out, and dont let the other half get near em LoL Bex
Actually, my other half is quite appreciative, one of our first dates was Air Fete 97, complete with Reds, Thunderbirds, Frecces, Patrouille everything and the amazing B-2, she thinks that was the ultimate in first date cool.
No there aren’t.
The last flyable CASA was a Commemorative Air Force (CAF) operated example which crashed on July 10, 2003, near the Cheyenne Municipal Airport, Cheyenne, Wyoming.
It was on final approach when the pilot reported an engine failure. After impacting the ground, it skidded into the Laramie County Independent School District school bus wash facility. The pilot, Neil R. Stamp, and the copilot, Charles Stephen Bates were killed. Both the building and plane were destroyed by the post- accident fire.

Was this the one that was used in Piece Of Cake, I presume it is. I’m surprised that given the impetus to spitfire, and hurricane preservation in this country following the BoB film, that more examples of this type have’nt been restored. Interestingly enough, while sorting through some boxes in the garage yesterday, I found a copy of the Southend Air Museum programme from about the late 70’s. In that, they advertise their Casa 111 as being available for film work, well, I recall at the time that it was in a right state, with birds nests everywhere, cloud cuckoo land methinks.
The ‘World’ really doesn’t give a monkey’s

I think you’ll find it does, and thats the problem, like blowing up goats……….
It was with a sinking heart I opened this thread.
And yes, all my worst fears have been realised.
Why does every Dambuster thread end up discussing the dog’s name? It really isn’t that interesting, constructive or useful.

I agree with you Moggy, it is pathetic, but understandably, people have strong views on this issue from both sides, it’s the way of the world I’m afraid.
I’m trying to work out whether there are serious implications for calling my dogs Scooby Doo and Meggy Moo…. Perhaps United Artists will come after me over copyright.
Thats interesting HC, so these under developed taddies are likely to survive the winter then. We’ve found some spots down the river where there are shoals of minnows, we are contemplating having a dunk, now that the Pike has gone.
We had another visitor last night, I’ve suspected rats under the shed and what looked like a baby appeared and was scrounging for bird seed, he must be brave knowing there was a Jack Russell about, and in no uncertain terms, Scooby made his presence felt, mind you, he thinks it’s a rabbit, silly sod, we’ll see what happens next, he can only get his nose under the shed floor.

For all you UK viewers, after using Gelignite, I think Johnny Kingdom found it safer to tickle them into submission.

Nice pics, everyone concerned, I was determined to go this year, but apart from madam and I coming down with some really stinking flu type virus, Fairford is a real pain to get to from here, can we have it back at Cottesmore.
So what would have happened if the dog had been an albino and Gibson had called it Honky…….
I think we mulled over this a year or two ago, when somebody posted a colour pic of it performing at a show at Hucknall (Notts).
It was listed in the Warbird Directory. N5087V ”Toured europe”
Now USAFM Wright Patterson museumOops.. just seen Daz’s post……..
It was this one, I do have some colour slides of it but I can’t post them, I spent most of Hucknall airshow sitting next to it, the crowd barriers were somewhat insignificant affairs in those days, ie one piece of rope.
I don’t recall seeing the rear turret of a Warwick before, though I didn’t really bother to much with looking round the hangars in detail during Legends, so I must have missed it. Whats the story behind this then.
The SAR yellow Sea King again last night, these brave boys are worked too hard.
