Last ones for now and they include the two Spanish Air Force Hornets departing, nice noise with the Afterburners from both and the did a low pass over the bay and buzzed the Military Ramp.

One thing to remember for those who haven’t been to Lanzarote before is that flights take a while to get there (4 hours from Scotland) and as the Airport shuts overnight this means that if you get to the Beach early (before 7-30am) you usually find only local Spanish aircraft on the ground.

The first European based flights start about 8am or so and are very sporadic so on the likes UK day which is a Thursday and the Airports busiest the traffic only starts to really pick up about 11am.

The Aena web site provides arrival times so what I did was copy and paste the previous weeks movements and took that with me to give us an idea of when the better ones were due.

Wednesday is really dire so that’s the one I would suggest going somewhere else for the day.

    Here’s some more.

Yes I mean’t to say that in my first post, the “p”, “a” and “n” on the Port side look as though they could break up.

    Hello Kaplan,
Didn’t bump into you today since I was on the other side when you shot the photos above.

I didn’t use the D60 today at all and used my Camcorder instead to shoot all the Freighters, my WIN TV gadet is away on tour at the moment (a friend has it) so I’ll try to upload some movie clips of them next weekend.

Thanks to REN’s advice I have a “Gust Buster” for it now which cuts down on wind noise quite a bit so they won’t suffer so much from wind noise.

We had a good one last weekend at PIK when an Evergreen 747 dropped in on a fuel stop and when he taxied out I was using the Camcorder on him and he slowed right down when passing the photographers well down from me.

He speeded up again and saw me on my steps with the Camcorder and opened the throttle up when passing me which was really good of him, the guys next to me said “Did you get that, did you get that”.

A lot of Pilot that taxi past the “mound” are really obliging and that was a good one.

It did a flight from Malaga to Glasgow today arriving mid afternoon and left for Tenerife at 5-15pm tonight.

I hope to catch it again tomorrow morning leaving Glasgow one last time, got to get some slides of it pre Winglets attached.

Now it’s late March the sun is getting around far enough for shooting from the North side at Glasgow in the evenings.

I shot it departing Glasgow on Wednesday when it made it’s first visit doing training flights up and down to Liverpool. It did the same again today so I managed to get better ones of it landing about midday.

Look forward to seeing it back at Glasgow next week with the Winglets attached as it will be the first 737 with Winglets on the UK Register (well I think that’s right).

Any rumours of a logojet appearing amongst the four new BMibaby 737’s?suppose there might be a chance of another one to join the nice looking “Wales” scheme.
