    Remaining pics that MOTF has asked me to post.
    Its definitely a MS Type ‘N’ bullet (bulit), the red one that is.

    I though it was something like that and have just looked at some authentic pictures in a book I can see the differences.

    Yes I see my mistake in the identification now, and why, this same photo(or very similar) was misidentified as the Sandtoft example some time ago on this forum, so I automatically assumed, not being familiar with all of the serial numbers, that this was the Sandtoft beast, apologies.
    Which ever way up it will be great to see a Gannet flying again, good luck to all concerned.

    XA459 at Sandtoft.
    Now is this being made airworthy or not ? I hear some say yes and other saying no chance !. If its a yes does this mean two airworthy Gannets in the UK soon ?, if so its all toooo much for me !!.
    Years without one, then possibly two, oooh I must go lie down .

    Oh what a shock, I must confess I did not know that he was ill.
    I met RR on at least three occasions that I can remember, a couple of which were at the Flypast photocall and fly ins at North Weald. I spent some time walking around with him at one event whilst I was taking photos he was advising me how to best submit them for potential publishing.
    Nothing seemed to much trouble, a very decent and genuine man.
    My condolences go to his family (and friends of which I would imagine there are many).
    A sad loss to the world of aviation.

    There should be a law against racing Sea Furies, what a waste of a brilliant aircraft, in fact there should be a law against exporting them from now on (importing is acceptable) 😀 😀
