    Wonderful man. The Telegraph made it a policy a year or so ago to include obits as often and as frequently as possible as the numbers inevitably diminish month by month, as a small but meaningful memorial to them.

    He was an amazing and brave chap…..the father of one of my colleagues

    We found this small piece on Hunsdon airfield that looks like a bracket of some sort. Now, with the numbers our first thoughts were Spitfire because of the 300 prefix. It is about five inches long.
    Marks are:
    30053-541 40
    6S
    212 in a circle, P to the left of this stamp.

    Any help gratefully received:)

    very nice!!! It is the radio controller bracket of the port side of the cockpit of a Spitfire!!! Could have done with that last month!!!

    unlikely that one then….thanx….just going from the excellent condition of the yoke, note logo badge is from another B17

    The date could be the day after (I suppose) if it was a night raid…..it was pencilled on the yoke. The yoke has no other markings that could tie it to a particular aircraft.

    I think it maybe a representation of the armorial lion from the Quebec Coat of Arms (adopted in 1939)…this would explain the Montreal makers
