The 5 heart one is single piece AH2061 (from memory). Fitted prob up to and including Mk5 or V. AH10019 were the split rim main wheels fitted to spits up to at least 9/16. Griffons had 3 spoke split rims.
Tail wheel wise AH2184 for most spits. Some late Seafires had a wider rim. Split rim in both cases. All wheels made by Dunlop. How sad am I?! Hope I got the first part number correct!

I have an interesting array of replies from many MEPs. Most have concentrated on firearm owners and not deact owners. The poorest response was from Nigel Farages representative which the gist was….we will complain and lobby against it but it will likely get thru anyway! No bulldog spirit there. None said I could not publish the responses, so will post if interest.
My conservative MP Kit Malthouse was disappointing with wishwashy stuff, so disappointed. Best response was from Julie Girling MEP which grasped the issues and was practical.

I personally have no problem with the legistlation as proposed, although the UK legislation seems to be working well at present but then I am not at all interested in firearms so I will probably be acused as being biased as you clearly are.

And so comes an interesting post. Your second para sums it up for me….you have no problem with the new legislation but you have no interest in firearms….so why are you biased? Why do you have an opinion on something you don’t care about?

What you don’t understand is that they are side tracking a valid need to stop the ease of getting fully functioning guns being freely available on mainland Europe with a witch hunt against law abiding UK citizens having historic deactivated guns. This is also being applied to other law abiding collectors in the EC. My deactivated machine guns from shot down British and German aircraft are no harm to anyone….they are historic aviation, this is a historic aviation forum. Yes I am biased to being able to continue to preserve these relics (which each of my deact certificates say are no longer firearms) for education and future generations. I am not anti EC but I am anti legislation which is detracting from what it should be doing (I.e making Europe safer by restricting access to and transport of functioning weapons) and hounding law abiding citizens. We go round. This buoy every few years and I am fed up.

I am disappointed that we have to go around the buoy with deactivated guns again. I have already sent an email to my MP on this matter. I suggest interested others do it too. The terrorist acts in the EU are horrific…..It is important to stop the ready flow of active weapons around mainland Europe. Taking all the deactivated brownings, Mausers etc out of flying and museum exhibits and off law abiding collectors, will not make the world safer.

The Telegraph article referenced above is sobering…..I kind of assumed that guns in the EU were fairly strictly controlled like they are in the UK. The EU need to get a handle on controlling the traffiking of fully functioning weapons.
