That’s nothing, I bought a book on Feng Shui the other day, but I can’t decide where to put it.

Well done Tony.
I have suggested that the BoBHS bring along the full list of as yet un-sponsored names to the signing event we are having at the museum in aid of the monument on the 26th September, in the hope that those coming along to have their items signed will also sponsor a name.
Geoff.
Geoff, did you never see that God-awful Biggles film then?? (says he who rather shamefacedly admits to owning it! :D)
I did see it a long time ago, though I can’t remember how much of it I saw. I take it they had Stearmans in that then??
Geoff.
Re my first photo, if addition you faired the front cockpit over, added spats, a headrest for the pilot, some dummy guns, and painted it in WW2 Italian fighter colours, I reckon you’d end up with a pretty good looking ‘Fighter’. Any Stearman owners out there want to give it a try?
Or how about a Bede BD-5J in German WW2 markings as a stablemate of the Me163!!

F/L E S Allen, Sgt E T Smith, F/S A B Dennison, F/S G A Maginley, P/O J R Byrne, Sgt R G Crump, F/O J E Murray-Shirreff.
The bodies of the two Air Gunners were found but of the rest none could be identified & their names are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial. Sgt Smith was 42.
I can confirm that this wasn’t a presentation Spitfire.
Geoff.
Dave,
I’ve emailed my friend who is doing a book for AirBritain on presentation Spitfires. If anyone knows the answer he will. I’ll post his reply as soon as I get it.
Geoff.
Snakeman,
You could try looking here, though it will only be included if it was an accident http://www.accident-report.com/usaf.html .
If you want to order an accident report, try doing it through the Air Force Historical Research Agency at http://www.maxwell.af.mil/au/afhra/ . I have just recieved a copy of an accident report I had only asked them if they had – free of charge, though it did take a month for the report to come through.
If you’re in a hurry I would suggest you get the accident details from Accident-Report.Com but order the accident report from here http://www.aviationarchaeology.com/ . They responded to my email a lot quicker than the other bunch.
Geoff.
Afraid not Moggy, that took place on the 6th September 1939
Geoff.
If you want to speak to a Defiant pilot, we have Robin Lucas who flew them with 141 Sqn during the Battle of Britain attending the signing event at our museum on the 26th September. See here for more info http://forum.airforces.info/showthread.php?t=30626
Geoff.
Two more pilots have confirmed they will be at the museum on the 26th September.
These are Peter Brown (41 Sqn) and Robin Lucas (141 Sqn). No 141 Sqn were of course flying Defiants, so this is a great chance to get Robin’s signature & have a few words about flying the Defiant.
Geoff.
You can also sponsor a aircrew name on the monument for £10, there are still 1308 names that are not yet sponsored. Follow this link for more info http://www.battleofbritain.net/bobhsoc/monument.html .
Alternatively, you can come to our museum on the 26th September, meet some Battle of Britain pilots, & get them to sign a print, book, or whatever you bring along. It’s £10 per item with ALL money raised going to the monument. Last month we raised £2,300 at a similar signing for the monument. more details here http://forum.airforces.info/showthread.php?t=30626
Who knows I may make you as famous as Steve Young
Geoff.
This is the Duxford replica soon after arrival. I always thought it was metal.
