Now can someone please find and recover a Do-17?
If you can give us a map reference Mike, we’ll dig it 😀 We did excavate a Do17 some years ago near Leeds Castle in Kent. Found two nice engines….and the complete bombload 😮
Geoff.
Mark,
I’ve looked in the relevant Colin Cummings post-war RAF losses book & there’s no mention of it in there, so presumably it was no longer on RAF charge & that no RAF personnel lost their lives.

All this outfit needs is the the ‘ten gallon hat’,the ‘five gallon trousers’ and the cowboy boots
Perhaps he was getting ready for a ‘Connie’ Edwards lookalike competition.
AndyinBeds does fly in IMC
Geoff.
If it was an RAF or Luftwaffe aircraft I/we could probably help, but USAAC crashes are a bit out of our area.
It might be better to try an appeal in the relevant forum here http://www.armyairforces.com/forums/gforum.cgi

Steve,
You could register her in France, as F-URYC perhaps 😉

Indeed, Good old Golf-Abel Golf Howe Yoke. Used to have a T-shirt many years ago with ‘Ruskin Air Services’ & their logo on the front. Does anyone have any good photos of ‘G-AGHY’? in Ruskin colours? I have a poor one from Biggin Hill ’82 taken from 7 o’clock & at a distance.
Geoff.
Good job it wasn’t a Brazilian
It has been confirmed that Tom Neil will be at both the signings, 26th September & 3rd October.
I had a good day at the museum last Sunday, spending some time in the company of a Battle of Britain pilot, Arthur Smith, and his good lady who came to see the museum. Got him to sign the print I had just bought ready for the coming two signing events. The print already had four Battle of Britain signatures on it, Bea Beamont, Pat Chilton (FAA/Gladiators in dockyard defence), ‘Black’ Smith, & Pete Brothers.

But what day is the ‘Anyone from the forum who brings Steve a bottle of beer gets a ride in the backseat’ day at Duxford going to be?
Geoff.
Very Interesting Steve. The uniform looks too modern for WW2 & the insignial looks American to me. Could it be one of the American aircrew who were shot down & captured by the Russians during the Cold War? Where did you get it from? Have the USAF museum seen it. I have a Russian contact, Andrei Bedski who might be able to shed some light on this.
Geoff.
Steve,
Does this mean you’re planning on bringing ‘Southern Cross’ over sometime????
Geoff
Why do Andrewman’s photos always have a brown wheelie bin in them?

The information regarding the signing even on the 3rd October, in aid of the museum roof, has been updated with details of the fee per item signed (£10) and some details of the prizes donated for the raffle on the 3rd.
