I remember the first year it turned up at the PFA Rally sporting the twin engine installation – raised some interest and I believe won a prize at the event. It looked a clean conversion and not some nasty bodge job.

This was my first time in charge of a water vessel the other week in case anyone actually is interested. More Sub Lt Phillips than Admiral Nelson…. but fun.

I was always under the impression that she was registered as G-ECAN as the prototype was G-ACAN and this was the closest period style registration available.
Could well be wrong but it was something alluded to in the past..

Just like to add my thanks to the IAC for letting us come and “play”. Was a real treat to be able to play a part in the day. Hope to come to more in the future.

It was good to meet up with some fellow Forum folks too. I will get around to posting some photos soon when I get thm off the camera.

I’ve got one of those somewhere….
Ahhh I remember the Sidney Camm display in the middle. The silver, record breaking Canberra, the prototype leading to the Lighning… I will try to dig it out next week.

Nope – not been arm-waving since Mildenhall.
Going to Middle Wallop on Sunday though.
Unless I get a job I am not sure when will be next time…

Quite a mix there! What is that glider D-5410 venting or is that an atmospheric phenomenen?

It is venting some of its water ballast.
Often seen during competitions as they race for the line.

No this Dragon lives out Rencombe way I believe. The Duxford ones are all (Dragon)Rapides.

    Hi Rob,
I am also marshalling the event thanks to the generosity of a good friend I am able to make it from Rochdale!
Martin – I thought it was you that Peter mentioned on the phone the other day. I am just waiting on some information…

    See you both there
    Gary
