Does anyone remember the show at Cranfield (probably in the late-’80s) when a Harrier removed a rather large section of the runway’s tarmac surface as it took off?

I remeber that well but I can’t remember the name of it… I remember the hoo-ha over it too…

Re the field landing in Ireland. They had to buy the crop so they could cut it down and take off again.
As Paul said she is due to stay hangared although there is a vague possibility of another public appearance before she goes “home”

Some of us got to play with the Vimy at Turweston…. 😀
She arrived Saturday eveing and departed about 3-4PM on Sunday.
On departure to Dunsfold she met up with the Flitzer that was at FFF for some air to air.
Fantastic experience to be able to “work” this aircraft….

    FYI I am:
    1. No
    2. Yes (for a few years – I left for reasons below)
    3. –
    4. No, however, I used to work the rally (when a member about 5-6) and attended 13 in succession and have attended several others.

As a non-pilot (and realistically never going to be) I felt I didn’t get anything really for my money (except a magazine) especially when they started to charge for me to go to what in some ways was “my” rally. I felt in some ways I was paying for those who used the engineering/flying side of it (rightly or wrongly).

    Cracking film that…
The aircraft in the film was a mix of Hasting/Tudor IIRC. Very odd design – non-airworthy of course…
Made some good fims in years gone didn’t they?
