I’m going to have to get a copy then and watch the start. It could in that case be an ultralight/microlight…

    Thanks for that.
I thought I was going a bit mad and imagined it all.
Shame in a way about the early equipment. An area that gets forgotten in preservation circles?
    Thanks again

    Cheers Chris
I think they are a mock up.
There are not too many ribs in the wings and the interplane struts look very flimsy.
Daz – I agree it does look Avia-ish but I think the rudder balance is wrong – should be a square cut out?

The undercarriage looks as if its from a Jungmeister or one of the licence built ones (Spain or Poland).

Could it be an ultralight? Looked again and noted the full span waggly bits on lower wings only – this lead more to the mock up theory and it just being a vague representation of an Avia design?

I’ll keep looking to see if I can get a more definate answer.

Hi. I seem to recall she needed speiclist trucks and other associated things during turn around. Think they are visible in some of the early pictures of her in service. I might be totally wrong but you know how it is.

The RAF do still use Nimrod. There are a few airframes undergoing a major upgrade which is as always with such things over budget and late and getting later.

From the RAF site. For Nimrod look under Maritime and Recon…

Nice picture. Colour brings it to life. Plus reinforces what a fantastic piece of kit the Typhoon is.

Was the “111” that Neil Williams lost in en-route to the UK for filming or was that a later thing?

    Convince her to come too.
Loads of stuff for those not aero interested to do… (looks at flyer and notes…)
“Arena Demonstrations, Craft Marquee, Dog agility team, Island farm donkey sanctuary, Kennington Brass band (after 12:30), US 19th Century Settlement village, tade & Charity stands & more!!!”
edited to remove the non-aero or bloke stuff…;)

They had a stall at Woburn last year and I’d agree they certainly know what they’re on about and the size of the task ahead. Came across very professional and heads screwed on.
If they can get it all to come together it should be a fantastic project.

According to the info on the site the link goes to Zeppelin had a fatal accident during filming and it states nothing of the sort against the other possible contender Darling Lil
