Based on the graphic novel series this was an interesting film to watch and provided you treated it as a moving “graphic novel” (aka comic) it worked. shot mostly B&W there are certain parts of people or objects that are coloured an interesting effect.
Enjoyable ( – although more of a bloke fim than a woman’s)

I suspect the 1000 new coaches will part of the new generation of DMU/EMU units. That does seem to be the way they are going these days with few trains being hauled stock.

The key thing here is it is a special newly built line. Our railways aren’t built for such speeds.

I dare say we could have a high speed rail link but can you imagine the huge row by the environmentalists, NiMBY’s et al? let alone the cost. Just look at the hoo-har over the channelk tunnel link.
This country can’t produce a major project on time let alone budget!

As Ren states – can you imagine the carnage from a crash at those speeds? I don’t even want to think about it…

The Fourth Protocol
Cold war stuff. A Russian plot to destabilise NATO through the detonation of a atomic bomb next to an American airbase in England. A young Mr. Brosnan plays the Russian as Mr. Caine tries to stop this plot. Why can’t we make simple films like this anymore. There are no spiffy graphics or the like – it is a good simply made film.
My verdict: Great film.
