The domestic/technical site is fenced off from the the main part of the airfield and is now operated by the RLC as “Dalton Barracks”.
The main airfield site – i.e. the flying field is used by the VGS for gliding and the RAF/AAC for flying practice from time to time. Occaisional exercises utilise the whole airfield site.

The “Modern” tower is indeed vandalised and boarded up.

Abbo is also used once a year for the fantastic Abingdon Air & Country Show.

Well we will find out the damage later today when GB makes his pre-budget statement.

Why am I filled with dread and the thought that we are going to get shafted good and proper.

Also why is it that just as I think I am getting to a point of being slightly better off some “person” moves the goal posts?

We civil servants still not had annual pay “rise” yet – although with inflation rate as it REALLY is it is a negative pay rise – and there will be no late payment interest or anything added to it and it will be nicely taxed thank you!

The C-12 pictured is in fact operated by the US Army and would have flown in from Stuttgart.
They were supposed to come to EGUL but changed their flight plan.
The call sign for the US Army C-12’s tends to be Duke xxA/B.

The US Navy ones are long gone from Mouldy-hall. (Plus USN stuff is marked Navy.)

…PS Anyone know whats happened to Brian Matthew, he seems to have dissapeared from his Radio 2 saturday show, hope he’s ok, Saturday Club was real ground breaking radio in the early 60’s, first to be broadcast in stereo, as long as you could tune in your telly to the other channel!

I think he has had an operation or is ill as JW wished him a speedy recovery the other week…
