I don’t watch these shows as has been said they are all samey, tedious, dumbing down TV. Thing is people watch them and ring the premium numbers and make the companies loads-a-money!

I’ve banged on about this before, but I do think it is a shame that the 60th anniversary of the civilian Auster has been totally ignored by the aviation press, as far as I can see.

I agree it is a travesty what gets ignored.
If it makes you feel any better the VAC had some Austers at the September event to commemorate it. Shame numbers were limited otherwise we could have had more.

I think I’d go for an Auster too myself. I’m not sure what mark although I did fly a circuit (supervised) in a 6A Tugmaster once… Quite like the look of the Mark 11.
Piper Cub would be fine (if I could master steering it on the ground).
