I’d just like to say thank you to all the aircrew, exhibitors and public that came to Turwerston on Sunday.
Glorious weather and a nice variety of aircraft, cars, motorbikes and tractors.

Funnily we inmates of Boscombe Down (note use of airfield name – saves remembering what we are called this week  ) call it a Chieftain.

Becuase the family were originally Navajo and this version was called the Navajo Chieftan originally but these days just shortened to Chieftan…. 😀

    Nice shots there holty.
I will have to pop over to Warton when I hopefully move up that way.

You need to brush up on your Air Rec matey. The twin is a Navajo (one of them thar Piper PA.31-350 versions I think.
The RAE (or qinetiq or what ever they are today) use it for a commms/crew shuttle.

The Robbie Coltraine TV show was ‘Planes, Trains & Automobiles’. One show did a piece where he visited a bloke in Germany who restored DB605s.

    Martin

I thought it was Robbie ColTrains planes and automobiles…
    Good series whatever.
Loved it when he took the engine out of that car at the side of the road…

Thats cause they are a super rich nation Gary, they have no values.

It could be that but it does annoy me. That and the amount of time the aircraft spend just sitting there running and going nowhere – that’s my ozone they’re burning a hole in!

It annoys me how much this place here (where I work) doesn’t really recycle. The amount of crud this place generates is incredible. Also if something is old/unwanted e.g. furniture or electrical goods it is straight in the skip. No attempt to sell it off or recycle it in some way.
They don’t seem to care one jot.
