The Libyans have published plans and details/models of a major museum complex from which it can be reasonably assumed that the LBG will finally rest in a crash diorama context. They took an awful lot of trouble recovering every piece from the desert, without further damage, including the full width of the wing span.

I would rate the chances of it going back to the US as zero.

Thank you Mark12 – I think for a moment that I jumped to a conclusion that it was in the yard to stay, thinking again about the battles fought in Libya, a museum there with the LBG there would be quite fitting, I’d certainly like to see her placed under cover.

Corgi 1/72 model for all you TSR-2 fans! Not sure when its out, they do lag behind at times (especially Corgi) but it may be of interest to some….

Stopped off there today, a few guys working on the Meteor NF14, nose cone has been painted and they were rubbing down with “wet and dry” or similar around the joins etc. A few people with sketch pads as well, but I have to say that I’ve not seen anybody working on an airframe until today, it was good to see.

The Drover, Sea Hawk and Sea Prince still looked a bit sad though.

Star Trek

Far far better than I thought, plot line a little contrived to pull it all together, but hey, its sci-fi so who cares. Well worth a look, if only for the excellent character acting and nailing down the “originals”, Kirk, McCoy and Spock especially.

For some reason I have been thinking about this film for the past few months, I even came close to posting on here as I couldnt remember what it was called. I was quite young when I saw it but it left a big impression and I’ve always wanted to see it again.
I had no idea it was based on Lady be good.

amzing – a few of us on this thread all know the film, fantastic how something like this unlocks a thread in your head. I don’t recall William Shatner, but for some reason Richard Basehart sticks in my mind. Off to Google it again now !

I liked 845 a lot… something about that late bubble top, big rudder, huge engine ‘look’ that spoke to me. Hmmm, or was it her giving me a new parting every Legends on the tank bank! :eek::):):D

We do seem to be lacking in the griffon department now, shame.

I’m with you, totally different beast with that look, 845 was a beauty, I’d like to think that something will replace her, and I expect she will be back for shows etc and obviously she’ll be cared for.
