calls it a “universal wing” that could carry any symetric or asymmertric combinatin of underwing stores and quotes 6 Squadron as having flown with a 40mm cannon and two RP’s on one side, and a 500lb bomb and two RP’s on the other. Aiming and flying must have an issue!

oddly enough, the write up doesn’t mention internal weapons and the line drawing doesn’t show anything other than underwing RP’s.

164 Squadron converted from Spitfire V’s to Hurricane IV’s in 1943 and flew missions, also following on from pfp7063, IIRC 137 took some heavy losses flying against canal gates in the Netherlands in their MK IV’s

Odd mish-mash I thought

usual cheap and cheerful “Lancasters attacked Germany”… ah, what about the aircraft, Hali-somethings, Short whatsit, Wellington ? ? And shots of a Battle squadron while talking about 19 Squadron getting Spitfires – but, some of those interviews were very moving, John Peters especially saying that he felt he failed as his mission failed, and he was captured. Very very moving along with some of the others.

To JetFlap & Creaking Door – there is an excellent documentary on the new DVD release “dangerous days – the making of blad runner” thats also running on Sky – lots of gems like this plus the background to the movie. Excellent stuff.

also a shot from this scene, when he lets the dove go, and it sort of falls to the floor and doesn’t move – “cut”, take 27 !…

I just picked up….

In of all places, a garden centre, “Stirling In Combat” – £25 down to £8 – brand new, and to think I hate gardening… must go back again. Also, for my son for Xmas, £30 down to £9 a big “air warfare ww1 to gulf” big coffee table type book, bargin for xmas !

I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I’ve watched C-beams glittering in the dark by the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like, huh tears in rain.

There is a book due out in January which features the Airfix artwork – it has the classic on the front cover from the old 1/72 scale B-17 “bit-o-lace” under heavy attack and burning away nicely while dispatching a few BF-109’s…

Love the Buccaneer box though !
