Finding a Napier Sabre, is right up there with finding a Unicorn.
Thanks Mr 12 😉
I always appreciate your tremendous depth of knowledge on this subject, as well as your willingness to share it on the forums.

That picture is of a 46 correct?
Am I correct in assuming the units are the same?

“Mosquito Squadron” seems to have surfaced again at the top of the military movies channels. Having been on a B17 I never understood why the Mosquito, which was faster, more able, and carried a larger bombload didn’t replace it.
I was touring a B-17 with an American friend of mine who was also the crew chief of maintenance of that fort at the time.
I always like to tease Americans by saying things like, “the B-17 is a real good, 4 engine, medium bomber”.
I commented that the Mosquito could take the same payload, the same distance with only two crew.
His reply was “yeah, but they could never put up a raid of a thousand Mosquitos!”
True enough!
Judging by the photo, it looks to me as if the engine was not running when the nose made contact with the ground.
Certainly it was not under power.
Is the strip at Denham turf, or is the aircraft off the runway?
Always sorry to hear of such misfortunes. It really is a drag.
More importantly, I’m always glad to hear that no one was seriously hurt.
That truly is the most important thing.
Here’s wishing for a speedy recovery.

Mid Atlantic Air Museum in Reading Pennsylvania have N7471.
It is complete and intact.
Probably could be made to run again.

I was at Oshkosh in 1994.
They had ten corsairs flying around the pattern at that one.
Awesome sight and great to hear that it may happen again.

Well, how’s that for a meaty Meteor update huh?
Old 788 has even made a meal of poor Eloise!
Great to see all the success and great to have a window in to all the fun and antics you folks are enjoying.
Nothing better than having a ball while all along getting things to progress so nicely. Good on you all.
Only thing missing is a picture of the new clutch ;P…. (this clowns just a laugh a minute heh?):highly_amused:
Great stuff Blue.
Thanks!
Aren’t Jablo propeller blades an example of this type of technology?
Andy
No update?!?!
I want my money back!!
Hope the bill for the clutch isn’t too painful.
As a friend said to me, when a car I had crapped out, “ownership has its privileges”
All best.

I second the Tamiya clear red. That’s immediately what I thought of.
I used it to make a red lens for my head lamp, for use while night flying. It worked a treat.
You need to see in the cockpit, but, you don’t want to lose your night vision.
Still watching. Still enjoying.
Andy
Sorry.
Just google P-51 Voodoo speed record run and you should get an assortment of runs at full bore. (either that or you could move countries 🙂 🙂 )
These unlimiteds still get run at full tilt.
This isn’t a Spitfire, sorry, but if you want to hear a Merlin at full giddy-up like P&P just described go to the 05:00 minute mark of this video.
I can only imagine how keen people will be to part with their hard earned, to pay for other peoples tropical vacations, after the likes of that other bozo fleeced people for millions.
