The Beeb marked Battle of Britain Day by repeating Bomber Boys presented by Ewan and Colin McGregor
I wish they’d left the presenting to Ewan, Colin (the Harry Enfield lookalike) ain’t no presenter and its torture listening to his strangulated Scottish accent…………I feel better now I’ve got that off my chest!
I wonder how many of the original line up stayed earthbound through lack of available pilots yesterday, I note Hurricane ‘Pegs’ was absent, i think PT gets Stu Goldspink to fly it when he is in one of the others.
But Stu was in UP-W yesterday.
It was fortunate that channel 4 made the effort, the Beeb haven’t done anything outside their news programmes.
Bizarrely they have put on the McGregor brothers ‘Bomber Boys’ on BoB day
Great vid thumper, it was great to see ‘Blue’ section return to Duxford, I’d seen them fly over Biggin Hill today .
Lovely to see the Hog although I wish they could get in touch with the boneyard to replace the ‘opaqued’ windshield side panels!
Hangar 11 Spit inbound to Goodwood according to FR24
That would be the jolly round West Sussex and round the IoW then.
I wonder what pilot/2 seater has the honour ?
Very well put Bruce.
Very well put Bruce.
Thanks for the Hog info, hopefully someone at Dux for the flypast return will grab a few shots of the A10.
Is it being suspended again?
Hoping to be at Biggin for a flypast of ‘blue’ and return of ‘brown’……..I think.
Lots of animosity on a BBMF Facebook post because the various flights aren’t going near these individuals locations.
Even with 200 aircraft you’d be hard pressed to please everyone!
I’d agree there.
The Unions have pushed their luck far too much over the years, look at the situation with London Underground.
The RMT will strike TfL and LU into driverless trains far quicker than if they had been a bit less militant.
On paper unions are a fine idea, but they get too big with power hungry and and angry little men with inferiority complexes at the helm .

Too much is made of the economic crisis when used to criticise New Labours 97-2010 term of office, certainly it was a major factor but my overriding memory of that time was the country becoming virtually lawless with a succession of useless Home Secretaries.
Anti social behaviour and ASBO’s became the norm ,radical preachers could spout their venom freely in the road outside Finsbury Park mosque.
In addition we in London had to suffer the Jew hating IRA sympathiser Ken Livingston as London Mayor. As a result our Borough never saw a policeman presumably because we had voted conservative for decades so it was our punishment.
Blair also installed a puppet Met Police Commissioner sharing ironically the same surname.
He was useless.
Fast forward a few years to the present day and the police are magically back on the streets again, the phrase ‘feral youth’ hasn’t been heard for around 5 years and we have a decent proactive Met Police commissioner in Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe.
‘Hook handed mullahs ‘ are no longer tolerated preaching in the road anymore.
And national security is again taken seriously instead of being swept under the carpet in case we upset certain sections of the community.
Plus the flags are out again!
Oh by the way and I forgot to tell you about how I was taxed heavily despite being a low earner below the national average wage?
And when the Coalition arrived I enjoyed 3 tax breaks one instigated by the Lib Dem side of the coalition.
Sorry to offend anyone but I’m not really enthused about being taxed by the likes of Brown and co to pay for LGBT outreach centres and other lefty vanity projects (besides that section of society are looked after very well already and even get a nice congestion inducing march through Londons West End…….I digress)
Please remember that New Labour were responsible for a lot more buffoonery than their handling of the economy.
