    B-17

    Ok Here Goes,

The first production B-17 to be except by the USAAF were

Boeing Build B-17B Serial Numbers 38-211 thru 38-610 followed by a Fuel tank mod the next set of B’s 39-1 thru 39-10.

The next set was the C model that the RAF received 20 aircraft but only 19 were deleived one was damge on transport and return to the States.

As for the Me-163 the time from take off to intercept to flame out was 8.5 minute according to the pilot notes that I have.

    Update

    Hi All,

Well I just got off the phone with an reporter from the local ABC news who had a bus tour of the damage at NAS Pensacola.

The MAin Musuem Build survived with some roft damage but it appears that the inside aircraft are alright. Now for the outside stuff, she said she thought that about a dozon aircraft reeived some sort of damage and she sttaed that she say some that had there wings pulled off.She also said that most of the damage parts are laying near said aircraft. She didn’t know what type and when I gave the PAO a call all I got was a recording.

I do know that the Blue’s have been order home and that they are most likely be TDY at NAS New Orleans till there section can be repair. Most of the active duty hangers receive some sort of damage. All of the Hangers at Witing Field lost their roofs.

As foir Eglin AFB Air Mueum she said that part of Florida wasn’t hit as hard as Pensacola. Also the USS Alabama park came through OK thou a the Veitnam Huey got blown off the Pike and a corner of the Mueum build was ripe open other then that its fine.

If I hear anything new I’ll post it.

    Hi Mark,

I got your hint their :p , I’m going to have to sorce a book in my collections. It list all of the 29s and what happen to them but if I remmeber AVM Parker at least two of are Yank 29s were demend surplus and instead of making the long trip back to the States to just have them scrap they were broken up in Aussie Land.

Give me a day or two to see if I can sorce the book.

    Cheers Crazymainer

    Well Ok then………….

Since it seems everyone given up.

The Last Two are the following.

The Military Cockpit is a North American/Ryan L-17A. This is owned by a good friend of mine this is her second Navion what makes this a special airframe is it never enter Civilian Life after serving with the US Army in the Far East and it looks like it has a Korean War History, it went to a Tech School were it sat till she bought it about six years ago. I was working on the Cockpit one day and deciede to hook up a Battery and see if the old Loop Radio Beckon work and lo and beho I got some local short wave stuff.

The last one is a Funk 850 this was taken at Twitchels Air Park in Turner Maine I had happen to stop in for some fuel and a bite to eat when someone told me their was an old plane out in one of the old T-Hangers that was for sale so since I like these old Classic Birds I decide to look at her. Well what they were asking was alittle more then I was willing to pay for considering it was out of annual by 20 Years and there was Rings in all of the fabric and the engine was in need of an overhaul. The last time I was over their which was about a month ago its still sitting their but atleast the engine is covered. I’ve told the owner if he ever decides to come down about 5 Grand then I would buy it from him. There were’nt alot Funks build and I think this is the only one here in Maine.

Hey Melv. I got an idea when your done with you funky US bird hers another one to add to your collection. This would give me a reason to come over and see you all. You know Melv you need some Crazy Yank to fly those Weird Yank things. :p

Then we will not even go into the landing from the backseat but remine me if we ever get a chance to meet the first round is on me. 😀

I have request of sorts you see guys I have a package for are Mr. Parker but because of some sort of Foolish Aussie laws  can’t send it down to him without it costing me an arm and aleg so I was wondering if one of are fellow UK Forum guys would not mind if I sent it to you and then you could give it to Mr.Parker. I would send along something for you as bribe. Jusy pm me your mailing address. :diablo:

    Hi!

What’s happening with this Lanc? In Coggan’s Directory, they state that she was under rebuilt after being hit by a falling roof, but that was in 1992.

    Anyone has a hint?

    Hey Ollie,

If you have the 3rd edition did you turn to page 18 and read that it went Mr. Weeks in 1993, :p And its been in Storage ever since then. :dev2:
