Thats the point Hand, whilst airlines operate with a mix of the two, its usually as one type is being phased out and replaced by another. BA for example will become an all Airbus fleet for narrow body and replace the Boeings.
As for has it happened before; maybe Easyjet? They have ordered both A319s and B73Gs, in close proximity to each other, though probably not at the same time.
That does seem a strange mix; I can understand people sticking to one manufacturer for the entire fleet, or a mix of manufacturers for certain areas of the fleet, but to buy a mix of short haul aircraft such as A320 and B737 seems very unusual.
A great bit of photopgraphy, but wow, that angle does make the A346 ugly!
I have a funny feeling that this one may be a repeat. A good show nonetheless.
Does it focus on particularly one family’s fight for justice?
Lets just stick to on-topic posts please, its not fair on the people who take time to create threads just for them to get trashed. Forum etiquette so to speak.
E.g. Do MYT fly to LCA from NCL/LBA. You respond saying you don’t see MYT up North and MAN isn’t North?
Today we talk about why Virgin may have opted for A346s; you start ranting about TWA800 and turning this into yet another A v B war; just like you did yesterday on the Media thread.
All I’m saying is have respect – and stick to the topic in hand.
Bmused; please can we stick to the topic in hand?
Just to confirm, Geneva is to be included in the Baby winter schedule from Teesside, contrary to what I was previously thinking.
As can be seen here:

The above taken from the Teesside Airport website. 🙂
NCL – This thread is about MYT flights to Larnaca, not MYT flights generally from NCL. LBA Rules knows that MYT have 2 aircraft in NCL.
Johnny – Thats exactly what people are saying; MYT have two aircraft based at NCL but don’t employ their own aircraft on the LCA route. Instead the holidays they sell are routed on the BY aircraft.
I meant exactly what you thought LBA; My Travel Airways. 🙂
Yeah, I spotted that BM; but that confuses me more because I would say if the Airbus announcement goes ahead; I would say that was expected rather than unexpected.
For me, where Virgin is concerned, I would have said the Boeing order would be the unexpected one.
I guess we all need to watch this space for confirmation. 🙂
Some good oldies there, thanks Steve. 🙂
NCL Rules,
Are you saying MYT fly from NCL-LCA or MYT fly from Newcastle, generally? 🙂
Exactly Hand; its not just the world of aviation that this is evident in.
Bmused; I know you’re very pro-Boeing and Anti-Airbus; but can you not give an opinion (balanced or otherwise) without being ‘So’ Anti-Airbus? 🙁
Marketing deparments constantly hype and counter hype; its their job. 🙂
This is fantastic news for Airbus, the Middle East & the aviation world generally. 🙂
Whilst the order does show a massive expansion on current activities, I suspect somebody at Ethidad might know what they’re doing? 😉
Thanks for the info LBA. 🙂
