Ben,
Get yourself a Gas turbine to play with, plenty of fun and work to be had with one. I’ve learnt a hell of alot while working on them and met alot of great people. There is always something to be done with them, I’ve tig’ed up stands and designed fuel systems for engines and had to solve numerous problems and that’s not to mention how much fun it is running them!! There is alot of satisfaction from running an engine properly too and not just wrecking it! Problem is I now have a great yearning to buy an old soviet jet! Check out this site to see the sort of things that can be done

In the words of manuel ‘que?’
Go on Bruce spill the beans, do you think this is an 801 you are better acquainted with rather than white ones motor?
Matt
Yes some technical words unfortunately are not easy to translate, better just to think in German and then it all makes sense, I sometimes find myself using the german words in normal usage because its easier! A very good online dictionary is:

Hi Tom,
unfortunately with most german WWII manuals there aren’t any translations. It is possible to Translate using optical character recognition software and then google (which is getting better and better all the time) and a good dictionary, this can produce pretty good results.

That photo is extremely exciting!!! I’ve been waiting a long time to see an 801 running and cannot wait to see the videos!!!!!!!!
Very nice, as Bruce says they are reasonably common, would love to see one running however and would like to restore one myself so if your looking to offload it 😉
There is a possibility Hafner has a manual for it if you have a search (it may be contained within the 262 manual), sorry if he doesnt!

BBMF Dakota about 300ft over carterton at 19:54 scared the cats!
Do they have systems for inverted flight?
Pilatus use the later style 109 U/C legs and quite few other 109 parts
Matt
Thank you skipper that an excellent video, very good quality.
I would absolutely love to see one running, however this is a close as you can get to the real thing running today!!

Glad to see that the pilot was unhurt and the aircraft appears not to be in too bad a condition. BTW: Does anybody know the registration for this example?

Hmm, notice the port U/C has ripped out of itself out completely and the crease on the starboard wing.

Great stuff Philip! Have you driven the Ket without the front wheel on, if yes how does that compare to driving it normally? Do people make repro panels and parts for them? What I’m wondering is in the future will it be possible to make a complete repro Ket or that just not going to be like a lot of german vehicles, yes you can build a shell with repro panels but without a donor with engine etc. your not going to be able to go anywhere!
Cheers
