A couple more of my humble efforts from today.

Fly me to the moon
Didn’t realize I’d got this until I was going through my pictures.

That is a SUPERB formation!;)
Not attending on show days, Alan. You said you’d miss the Meatbox.
Don’t go to show days Charlie. My other half isn’t too keen on crowds, and having to queue up for everything.
Can’t say I am either.
We bought a couple of 12 month passes. Couldn’t really justify the FOD option.
Classic Flights beautiful Meteor T.7 just arrived at Duxford.
Rob
Typical !! last year I missed the Connie, and this year the Meteor 🙁
One of my favourites from a great day of flying.

Did the earth move for you last night Charlie ? 🙂
I have read an account of a young German POW living in the tool-shed of a small-holding in a village near where I used to live; it seems incredible now but tens of thousands of POW ‘other ranks’ lived and worked on farms all over the country, without guards or barbed-wire, during the war.
They knew when they were well off.

High Flight was on again today. Good film, which I’ve not seen before.
Were the Hunters filmed at Leuchars ?
I was surprised by my wife at the beginning of the film, when she asked “Are those Vampires or Venoms ?”
It seems she’s learnt something after being dragged to airshows and museums over the last 30 yrs 🙂
Just an observation
Before the election, UKIP were virtually the only party to talk about immigration.
With everyone jumping on the bandwagon to call Farage a racist.
Since the election, the media are now broaching the subject in far more depth than they did before.
With some of the pundits doing a 180 on their views.
Even more so after today’s figures.

Warren, many yrs ago, Peterborough was my home town, and right in the centre was an Italian POW camp. I used to visit them, as it was allowed at the time, and many were oft seen to be carving very intricate items from wood, to pass the time of day.which they then sold to buy food and ciggies.
Jim.
Lincoln .7
You must have seen some of the lovely examples of bone carving in Peterborough Museum then ?
Dating back to the French POW’s from the Napoleonic wars

So, as I said before, I can only conclude that VTTS are only interested in securing their future, not XH558’s. If they really were serious about the long-term future of XH558, they would not be proposing to leave it at Finningley.
Whilst not forgetting the huge enjoyment they have given to so many people over the last few years.
Fascinating indeed.
I see that Lieutenant Philip Roderick Hall was on HMS Argus when he died. On 14th June 1942
Maybe when the Argus was hit by a bomb on a Malta convoy ?
Maybe it was a mis-print ? 🙂
This aircraft has certainly suffered more than it’s fair share of mishaps, mostly in landing.
Which I believe was the case during WWII.
