Its a crying shame so much is being made
out the fact Kirsty Stewart is female,…………….

It certainly is, but what are people supposed to think ? Being female was the
only thing that made her stand out from the rest of the team.

It would have been the same if the team had a black member, they would
have stood out too. It’s no big deal

Although they have said the team will revert to nine aircraft next year, I wonder if they’ll find seven
work well, and stick with it ? (yes I know, probably not )

Although other teams work well with six aircraft.

If you want to see how much an aircraft can be patched up, you only have to
look at one of the USAF’s KC-135s.

The problem is, with any story of this kind people are always going to read
between the lines. Nobody believes press releases, and will assume there is
    more to the story.

Like it or loathe it, it’s human nature. There is a distrust of anyone in authority.

Alan there is a recent thread on this without digging up this one:)!

    http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?t=112725

I did a search to try and find it, but obviously used the wrong key word.
That’s why I added it to this thread, rather than starting a new one. As the story had already appeared on here.

    Sorry for any distress caused

It’s inevitable that the cry will go out….. “she couldn’t take it because she’s a woman”, which is not really fair at all.
I wonder how many of the other pilots feel like packing it in, but can’t because they will lose face amongst their colleagues ?.
It’s no good flying in close formation with someone who isn’t 100% focussed on what they are doing.

Good luck to Kirsty in whatever she does now.

Just out of interest, when was the last time that the Swiss were called upon
    to defend it’s borders ?

I can think of no other country who might show interest for these 40 year old
cold war relics. Everyone else can do with attack helicopters.

Relic or not, if I were flying in harms way with people trying to shoot me
down, I think I’d rather be in an A-10 than any attack helicopter.

Nice pictures, they’ve come out well.

When I took pictures at Hendon a couple of years ago, I found that the
shadow/highlights option in Photoshop, could lighten the shadows quite well, as long as
    you don’t over do it.

[QUOTE=robdd1;1852267 I like the scene in the ‘Final Countdown’ when the F14’s do a low pass over the small boat and later buzz the zeros.[/QUOTE]

Yep, one of my favourites too. 🙂
