If you are talking NN660, I have the licence and we are digging it at the moment. It was not natural metal….it was discussed during the thread where all aviation archaeologists were told they were not and that their efforts would not yield anything useful to history.

Perhaps I’m looking in the wrong places but I don’t seem to be able to find a list of the performers at this year’s Legends. I can’t think of another event which is asking £29.95 for admission and not releasing some sort of list to let the punters assess whether it’s worth the investment.

Whilst I can understand your wanting of a list, I think the last part of your sentence should already have been answered! Have you been before? Was it worth it then? If you have not been before, I can assure you every Legends is worth every penny. Besides, Mr Grey’s investment far outweighs mine so I am more than happy to ‘invest’ my dosh!!

Congratulations to Tim and the team…it is great news.
I only heard it thru here….I am all for news on all warbird first flights (and classics!)
It is not only Spitfire orientated you know…..

Also of interest is the fact that that the belt – and presumably the rest of the set -is RAF 1925 Pattern webbing – note that the belt has no brass sliders as seen in the 1937 pattern webbing belts.

probably because the 1925 pattern webbing/holster was bigger to cater for the bigger frame and calibre of the early Webley…..as my webbing friend told me when I asked him if he had a spare holster!!!

Incidentally, I do need a holster and lanyard, the earlier the date the better!!!

some interesting replies….thanx and also thanx for the S&W shot Tangers old chap (as an aside, tried to pm you, but as ever, you are a popular chap!)

I used to own an Enfield2 and it was my preferred gun for the cockpit….but alas I had to sell it some time ago to fund some thingy for the Hurricane! The Mk4 (a 38) was nice and cheap! This acoutrement just makes an interesting addition to the display.

Yep, that’s the inside of the footstep (half way up the fuz from the stirrup)…I shall photo mine (which is not fitted yet) when I get home from work….if I ever get home from work!!

Top set of pictures, 4th picture, square part looks like the back of the magneto switch….top right, same picture, looks like a cowling fastener, seeing items up close would help easier.

must be early then as mine is pressed steel not stainless….it should have a 300 number if spit

JC you are a wag!!

On picture 1, the small shapes of thin ally are off the wing rib/frames. On the last picture, the cog is the elevator trim wheel cog…nice item… thought Merlin Pete would be useful on that stuff!!!

thanx all….what type of Comet and what do you need? I do not have many swaps nowadays…so may need to buy! All my money is ploughed into projects!
