Its not a classic is it ? HUGE elements of the plot contrived, action pieces well staged but not quite the cult to mainstream classics that the first two were. It’s interesting that they try and throw in new elements to a story that you know (Something George Lucas failed to do BIG time in his lame prequals) but I left wondering why I hadn’t waited for the DVD !

I’ve always had a soft spot for P9386, 19 Squadron with the yellow spinner IMO other than the “night & white” undersides, one of the few variations on dark earth/dark green of the period.

Corgi did a very nice 1/32 scale die-cast of it a few years back, oversized yellow roundels as well, it just “looks” the part to me.

Going on a day trip on a coach to Hendon then onto Heathrow when I was about 8, a glider landing in our school field when I was about 6 or 7 (infants school for sure), taking my son to his first airshow and several museums since and also taking him on his first flight which was in a Dragon Rapide at Legends.

Downside was I had no camera, a nice guy took some pictures of us but I never got an e-mail from him with them attached, that was a shame but I’ll never forget it.

Not really a scrapyard, although it looked like one at the time. I don’t think the Cessna, a Stinson or this Safir were ever brought out of Addis. amazing trip though!
