    Ok All,

Before Moggy give all a good kick in the arse and sends us to bed with out desert, can we try to get back to the original thread that FC started.

So Young Mr. Weaver where have you been during the last few days, surely FC didin’t hurt your feelings becasue if so then my boy you need to give up this flying then now before you put yourself into a smoking hole.

So Mr. Weaver I beleive their are two question that need to be answered

    1. What is this Health item you asre talking about

    2. Aircraft/Money you are going to have/purchase.

And for the record Skycruiser I think my time in any Warbird can equal your time pushing a Airliner around no matter how many hours you have :p

    Ok Guys,

Time for me to jump in hear since I was the one who brought up Spin Training and Acro-stuff. First let me state he in the States you are required to go thru Spin Training before you get a PPL. Now with that said, I said in my original post that FOR ME going thru a full aerobatic course gave me more confidance in flying and has been very usefull for me in my flying time.

Yes Spin and Acro are not for everyone, my sister hate to do Acro but my Dad insist that we both went thru the course. Do I think anyone who is going for their PPL or higher should have Spin training yes. An d for the record I know that a 737 can be spun remember the two crash her in the States with 737 that went straight in well they spun in after they had the lift disturbed. I not trying to strat a Flame over this all I’m saying is if Young Mr. R is going to go thru everything he should bloody hell make sure he knows what to do if he gets caught in rought air and gets but on his side.

Now for my I would never go near a Zlin don’t like them give me a CAP20 or in my case a T-6 or Tiger Moth. As for wearing a Chute well I don’t get into the Moth or the T-6 with out it on. I can tell you this folks you can put a medium size Warbird (B-25) close a a 45 and you better know what you are doing.

Anyway back to the original post by FC I notice Young Mr R has been very quite since he got call out. So Sonny whats up are you going to explain some of the valid question that have been raised about your health and aircraft purchase

Thanks and if I offend anyone didn’t mean to 😀

    Cheers

Unlike over here, in the States there is almost no ground school what so ever. But then again to get an airline job, even in the right hand seat those guys need 3000 or 4000 hours, whereas we can get one (well some of us can!) with 160 hours. A lot of chaps travel to the States seeing it as a short cut, only to return to Europe to face at least 8 months of ground school and 14 exams.

I’ll most certainly be back here soon, you seem like a very friendly bunch 🙂

    Martin,

Could you please clairifie your statement about ground school here in the States the last time I look we were required alot more ground school time then what was going on in the UK. Also you seem to forget if you go to work for a US based Airline they make you go thru each month a certain amount of mandatory ground school.

Also what school are you talking about at Ormond Beach,

And for the record here in the States you still have to go thru spin training to recieve your Private anyone who thinks they doen’t need spin control training is asking for trouble in my book.

So Mr.Weaver question then if you are come to America to get time because of a medical reason do tell what type of medical problem you have because you might find it rather hard to get your ticket. How do I know because I have a Heart Coundition that the FAA have told me that I’m most likely will not pass my medical. The FAA has come up with alot of new rule starting in 2005 involving medicals.(mind you I have been flying since I was 14 with the same medical problem)

    Martin,

Ihope I din’t offend you with my post, all I was trying to point out that for me doing the Spin Training made me a better pilot.

I could understand your reason on not doing a Spin but may I suggest you have a try at it but don’t go up in a Zlin, try a CAP or a Decath. I undertsand that you are doing Sim work and yes you are flying a Big Transport but any special training you can do is training in hand to speak.

Now for the Aerobatic Training well I think it should be part of basic training.

    Ah Spin Training,

Now that is really fun, I can tell you all that the best thing I ever did was take a Aerobatic Coarse it made me a better pilot and increase my confidance 100%.

Spinning is just an incrediable rush, I suggest everyone should try it at least once. My dad did all my spin training with me. He took me up in are Stearman and took me thru three spins before he let me do it.

Also taken the basic Aerobatic Coarse gave me the understanding of inverted flight. I can tell you thier is no feelinglike the first time you perform a Barrel Roll or a Loop.

Try it it once and your hook 😀

    Hey HP,

I have to agree with Steve(oh no the world is ending 😀 ) the TBM Tarpon would be a great aircraft to own.

Just think of all the Pacific FAA/RN Schemes that you could use. I have alot of ideas for you if you want to get a going. Go for it I say it would be nice to have a TBM at Leg Dend 😀

    Helo All,

Well I’m not privei to a of the going ons of young Mr.Weaver put I can tell you Young Sir if you think Come over to the States to do any of your time is going to be easier may I suggest before you buy your airline ticket you look into the New 9/11 laws they are very strict now on what Non American Citz. can and can’t do at flight schools.

Also I beleive(please someone correct me if I’m wrong)but the FAA Schools in the UK are not Saction by the FAA officials in Olk.

Mr. Weaver if your so hell bent on become a Commericial Pilot then instead of spending all that money on building time enroll in a Flight School either in Europe or here in the States. I went to Embry-Riddle Aeronatical Unv. great school top notch program and they have the European ground scholl stuff.

Anyway good luck and fly right and straight

So is Waikiki beach set right in the heart of Honolulu with all it’s offices and buildings, or is it slightly out-of-town? Sorry for all the questions, it’s just that we’re going to be spending a large sum of money to get that far and so don’t want to make a big mistake in the place that we choose etc. Also by shopping we mean the typical American style huge malls. Is this the kinda thing you find out there, or is the shopping more in the sense of rows of shops on busy high streets?

    Hi Wannabe Pilot,

I lived three blocks off the beach and I worked for the Waikiki Hilton its a 5 Star and located right on the Beach. As for shopping well its been five years since I was their but their are alot of open air malls and small shopping areas locare thru out Kai Kai Ave.

I must agree with Steve that the North Shore is a rather better palce to stay and if your into water stuff the water on that side is clearer and less crowd.

There are a number of day snoerkelling trips. Also get as Steve said their is a very good bus system that gets you around the Island but if you feel like being a little more active get yourself a car.

Now for going to Pearl Harbor one thing I can sugest is their is a great new trip that gives you a tour of the whole Harbor inclueding taking you by the USS Nevada over to the old WWII Sub Base. It also goes to the USS Arizona and some other stops.

If I could be more helpfull please pm ok.

Is Wixs (? ) attached to a magazine with a small ads section?
Wonder what Keys solicitors/legal eagles would make of this?

    Flood

    No Flood,

But we do have two Magazines that are part of the forum who also have small ads section.

I really can’t see Key getting bent out of shape if its done by Register Forum members and strict rule are layed down.

Maybe its time for Webmaster to weight in on this since tis seems to be a rather hot subject.

I spoke to Vintec who are doing the engine over here and they would be interested to talk. The engine on AOEF is a Ken Royce 5DF. Are you sure they don’t have a spare 7G for the Cloudster?

If it is a 5DF or 5F then there is definitely interest.

    Melvyn

I’m going to be down their way next Sat. and I will get all the info. I can for you guys also I’ll se if they have any spar stuff that they might be willing to either sale or trade.

Either PM or e-mail with a list and specs. you guys need.

I wish I could be their to see your first flight, are you sure you want Patty to do the flight :p

    Cheers
