To be honmest I thought it was developed into the SBD Dauntless.
The Northrop BT-1 had bad handling traits and no wing folding provision. Douglas sorted this out. You can see the similarities in the tail surface.Cheers,

I didn’t realize Wally had a PV-2, I know there is a C-60 tucked away in the Amjet hangar. The aircraft in the background is Howard 500 #9 N137U
