Guys, can we please try and steer this topic back towards military matters, rather than geo-political issues?

    Thanks.

    Google,

The problem is everytime a subject like this comes up its a Geo-Political issue.

It doesn’t matter if its a first strike by the US on Iran or who has a better Airforce India or Pakastain it turns into a Geo-Political.

    Thanks Crazymainer. 😀

That was indeed a hard quiz !!!!

    I’m ready No.3 when you are….

Is the XF5B-1 similar to the XP-15 ’cause they look near identical.

    TNZ

    TNZ,

Yes both the XF5B and the XP-15 are based on the same airframe other then that their isn’t much, I will have to pull out my specs. I think its a real Slick plane and one make a rather interesting repo.

Has for the third one let me fire up the old scanner tonight.

Crazymainer, he is either not even american

    Hey plawolf,

Your the one question if I’m an Americain, so if you are going to call someone on such a line then expect me or anyother person to jump right back at you.

As for my facts well lets say I was there and been back way to many time that I care to be and if we did decide to attack the Iran we would’nt just use a small scale force.

As for the UN its a Joke always will be one and thats how I feel about it, remember the reason the first Gulf War end to early was because the UN got cold feet. As a Humanitarian Group they are great but when it come to military well the record speaks for themselfs

    Getting Warmer

    Alrighties,…

I believe the third one down (the parasol fighter) is a Boeing Model 202 XP-15.

This aircraft was only built in prototype form, and was destroyed in a crash in 1931.

Contentious point: This aircraft was only tested by the Army Air Corps, not the US Navy.

    TNZ.
    🙂

PS Still working on the second one. 😉

    Sorry TurboNZ,

But nope the Parasol aircraft isn’t the XP-15 but it was build by Boeing.

As for the third one one more hint first plane to take off from the Langley

wow, didnt think i posted that.

Arthur, no point in trying to reason with Crazymainer, he is either not even american (and is just out to creat anti-american feeling), or is too young to understand what he is talking about based on the level of his english skills.

First I’m American I live in the State of Maine, and I’m a Vet of the first Desert War second I’m still work for the DoD on occasions.

As for the Dept question the United States never forgave any of the War dept. from WWII why do you think most of the ships that have been found in the Northern Rusian Convoy routes haven’t been touch it aint because of the depth beleive me we can recover stuff that deep. Why because the US claims ownership due to non-payment.

Now plawolf you have alot to talk about when it comes facts. So might I suggest you back off since you have No idea who the Bloody Hell I am. i suggest you go over to the Historical Forum and read some of my post or better yet go to the Warbird Resource group and you might learn a thing or two Mate.

    Gents,

Can I suggest some reading by the American historian Colonel (ret) David M. Glantz.

    This is a good start.

Also may I suggest a good twenty four hours to think about posting (maybe even doing a little open minded reading god forbid) and the tone of your posting may change.

Finally NEVER underestimate the effect of 40 years of cold war propaganda had on both sides of the fence. If we as a community here are genuinely interested in nutting out the historical aspects of our passion (in this case aviation) it has to be looked at honestly and objectively.

    – Dave.

    Dave,

Well put everytime these type of threads come up it leads to this BS and beleive me when I tell you that all it does is leads to major agruments and then the Moderators either locking or deleting the thread.

Wow I might have Stump you guys

    OK Guys,

Yes all of the photos are US build aircraft for the Navy so this should narrow it down. The two remaining are from the 1920s era.

As for the photos this is why my eduction come in handy I find all sorts of stuff at yard sales and on ebay 😀

Here is another hint I sited the publication in another thread on Corsairs and yes I have responded to it today and yesterday.

    This is Bloody Stupid

    OK Guys,

I have to put up with this crap at work yes both sides did alot to win the Bloody War, we didn’t start sending items to Russia till after Pearl Harbor nor were the Russians Allies of the Brits till after the Germans invaded and before anyone say other wise they didn’t lift a finger to open a second front during the height of BoB.

This type of thread always leads to this BS and you know what the Russians think one way and the Yanks and Brits the other we aren’t going to change each others ideas so lets just drop the whole Bloody thing because both side are wrong it was a TEAM EFFORT TO DEFEAT THE AXIS end of subject so lets move the Bloody Hell on. 😡

It appears to be US Build if I was guessing I would say either off a Corsair or a Hellcat.
